BEING WITH CHILDREN

"The soul is healed by being with children" ~FYODOR DOSTOYEVSKI~

VERSE TO REMEMBER

"I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth." 1 John 2:21

SPEAKING THE TRUTH

Censoring my true thoughts cuts me off from others. I don't need to stifle my ideas. I can express my true self in ways that are not hurtful.

SPEAKING THE TRUTH

In our attempts to be polite, we may stifle our best, most heartfelt ideas and beliefs. We're afraid we might hurt someone else's feelings if we spoke it truthfully. But it is possible to be honest without being rude or mean. How else do we let others know who we are? Unless we speak the truth, no bad idea will be challenged and no good idea will be shared.

SPEAKING THE TRUTH

"Truth is always exciting. Speak it, then; life is dull without it" ~PEARL S. BUCK~

VERSE TO REMEMBER

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7

GIVING OF OURSELVES

I tell myself I'm too busy to volunteer or to volunteer more than I do. But if I look at my schedule carefully, I can find the time.

GIVING OF OURSELVES

When a charity asks for help, it is easy to write a check. When a friend is ill, it's easy to send a card or a gift. But it would mean a lot more-to the charity and to your friend-if we gave of ourselves instead of our money. It would also mean a lot more to us. We waste so much time in meaningless activities: watching television, gossiping, fretting about things we can't change. If we could devote just part of this time to helping others, we'd be better off.

GIVING OF OURSELVES

"You give but when you give of your posessions, It is when you give of yourself that you truly give." ~KAHIL GIBRAN~

VERSE TO REMEMBER

"Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God." 1 Corinthians 4:5
