Wicked Grooves and Razorheds..

So, since May, 2013, we have been working, as best as our schedules can allow, on our debut album. Like most bands, we all have day jobs. Unlike most bands, we have been fortunate to have the help of great friends, who have lowered the costs of recording, as such, and after some slow fits and starts, things are starting to take shape. We have tried very hard to create something special. Something not heard as often nowdays. And the stuff coming out of the studio is HUGE! 10 songs, we hope- all hits! No filler, no B.S. and nothing less than our best material to date! Drums are very nearly complete, with only a couple left to record, and some minor tweaking. Guitar tracks are progressing nicely, and Jason is a machine inthe studio, nailing his bass performances effortlessly.. We have set a year's end completion date for all tracking. This will hopefully get us a completed product for consumption before spring. We have recruited an amazing artist for our cover- Stacey Borg; www.redheaddesigns.darkfolio.com She is amazing, and will most certainly add a level of professionalism and shine to the album that will set us apart from you run of the mill, 4 old guys making their own album, crowd! We only have 2 shows left this year, then no more gigs until the album is complete! As hard as this is for us- we love playing out- we need to be focused!! In the month of December, i will be posting snippets of tracking for everyone to enjoy, so keep an eye out! Thank you all for supporting us, and listening. We could not do this without the love and support of listeners like all of you, and our families. Have a great Thanksgiving holiday, and a Killer Christmas!! Allen Dean Skin of Saints

THANK YOU!!

08/10/13!! what a great night!! our show at Stuckey's, in Galt was killer!! V103.net, the Show's sponsor, set a fantastic lineup, consisting of Skin of Saints, Vanishing Affair, and EgoStall! so many familiar faces, i cannot even mention them all, but you know who you were, and we thank you so very much for driving down to Galt to see us! we got to do a full hour, so that meant, taking our time, enjoying the moment, and really soaking up all the screams and shouts from the crowd. Our version of the Mob Rules pretty much brought the house down! i keep wanting to trade that song out for another, but, dammit, people just love that song… we got our photo for the Stuckey's Wall, kick ass! we were also interviewed by Reality Check TV, who should be posting it to our Facebook page. i will tweet the link when it comes up, so i hope you are all subscribed to our twitter account. i might even link the interview here… thanks to the bands, you guys were all great, no one gave us the new kid stink eye, and everyone was really polished and sounded pro as hell! thanks so much to Stuckey's- anytime you want us there, just call! and thanks to all of you! without your support, we would not have the courage to keep writing great songs, and i wouldn't have the tenacity to still be screaming my guts out in my 40's… look for us out again in a while. we are going full bore into tracking, now that all of our pre production is completed. my hope is August will see us completed with major tracking, with a late fall release… more news to come, Stay Hungry!! Allen

Groundhog.... Whatever

Ok. So, our show on January 19th was off the Chain, thanks to all our friends, and the new friends we made in Davis!! That said, i do want to let everyone know it might be a month or two before we paly again, so our show on February 2 nd cannot be missed! We are support for the fantastic heavy melodic rock band RESTRAYNED. these guys are awesome players, and even more awesome people. We are really stoked to be sharing the plywood with these guys! It is going to be a full house, so get your tickets in advance through us, or through restrayned.... As for us, we are planning to spend a minute writing some new material as well as hitting the recodring studio to continue our current sessions. We have not decided if we will be releasing an EP or LP, but are recording enough for the latter, just in case. If an LP, we will have 8 songs, and the order will be a blistering, non stop assault, much Iike our Iive set. We think you will all be pleased. Again, thanks for all the sport, and love you have shown us this past year, and come see us live on Groundhog day, if you can!!! I guarantee a hot night!!

thank you all

RAD here, wanting to thank all of you whom have added us as your fans, friends, and supported our Band, Skin of Saints. i have to tell ya, this is so much damned fun! Best time i have ever had fronting a band! the guys playing at my sides and my back are some of the most accomplished and talented musicians i have met. and, the people we have met in the Sacramento music scene are like a family. the bands we have been blessed to share a stage with are gracious, accommodating and have all had positive things to say, as well as add to our experience. in addition, the new friends we have made in such a short time has been nothing short of inspiring. so, i wanted to thank everyone who listens, attends shows, and generally send us their positive vibes! Allen Dean, Skin of Saints- Sacramento, California

HI! We're the new guys!!!

Ok , not really, but as the incarnation known as Skin of Saints, we are pretty much the new guys on the local scene. We have played pretty steady, once a month since June 2012, but, a few gigs were parties, and not "club" gigs. We spent much of September recording, and are, heh, still recording. So, that said, these upcoming shows, 11/28 in Folsom, Ca, at The Powerhouse Pub, and 12/07 in Downtown Sacramento at the famous Old Ironsides, are pretty important for getting the word out there and getting our music heard. It is funny; i did not think after all my years rocking and moshing, i would have to prove myself again to a music scene. But, you know, i LOVE it! I love that we get to play our set for friends, fans, and strangers, and gague the reaction. When you write original music, of any genre, the biggest stressor is that your message, or the meaning, or the vibe you created does not connect, or come out like you hope. This time last year, i was personally in a wierd situation, creating good music, but feeling stiffled creatively and limited by being just one of the guitarists. One year later, and a handful of live performances later, and i feel like i did when i first picked up a mic and a spiral notebook, singing for Sacramento's Critical Mass. That nervous energy, that pressure which makes you only give more, and that need to make every note resonate with every face you see in front of you.... In the end, many people feel rock and roll, metal, thrash, core, whatever, is for the young. I respectfully disagree. As long as my fingers can still squealie and my voice can still make magic, i am going to love this and Skin of Saints will be there to make the most of every invitation to play, every kind word, and yeah, even every criticsm. I love this shit. I love this band, and i love the music we have created in such a short time. I hope you will all come and see for yourself why an old man came out of the shadows, and started screaming into a mic again. Thank you, all of you who listen, and love our stuff! Allen Dean, lead/ rhythm guitar, lead vocals, Skin of Saints, Sacramento

The Tale of Pistol Pete's

My story begins by saying, our show at PP in auburn was a benefit show- to help out the family of a young guy who destroyed his life via interveinous Oxycontin.... the cruel irony of what happened during our set has not escaped me. During the Skin of Saints set, a roughly 60 minute affair, someone dosed my wife's drink with something we can only guess was like GHB, due to the paranoia, hallucinations and hysteria. while we were getting our gear off the stage, i watched in shock as she slid down the wall and onto the floor with no control of her limbs. i got my gear to my car as fast as i could while our bassist, Jason, stayed with her. She then had to be carried out to my car by two grown men. the co- owner of Pistol Pete's, or one of his staff, i cannot quite remember, then proceeded to ask me how much she had to drink... Really? after carrying her dead weight out to my car, you really ask me this? needless to say, i knew right then this was their way of saying they didnt want to admit what had happened. then began three days of hell. nightmares, vomiting, hallucinations, you name it. all for a FREE SHOW. please, do me the favor of NEVER PERFORMING AT PISTOL PETE'S IN AUBURN!! these guys do not care about your people, or those in your family. they never inquired as to her well being, and it si two weeks three weeks ago this happened. we are pretty easy to get a hold of, considering FB, RN, and twitter... just be safe, my metal brethren, and protect your people. they are the ones who get you from day to day, support you when you are not feeling it, and are there for you to make your adrenaline go at a show...
