As we approach final mixes on the new record "In Times Of Olde" we are very pleased and blessed to have vocalist Marl Boals from Yngwie and the #1 rated musical in Las Vegas "Raiding The Rock Vault" join us. Mark has contributed some very powerful and beautiful vocal work to the epic prog rock piece "The Ice Age Cometh". Wait till you hear this one gang! Mark joins legendary Black Sabbath and Dio drummer Vinny Appice and guitarist Robby Lochner from Great White on this chilling song that tells a mythical story about the end of mans reign on Earth.

Mark Boals is an American heavy metal vocalist, best known for his vocals with Yngwie Malmsteen
Mark began his career touring with with Savoy Brown where he met Ted Nugent and joined his band as bassist in 1984. With Ted Nugent Mark toured throughout the U.S. and opened up for Judas Priest in Europe. Deciding to focus on singing and on being a frontman, Boals moved to California in 1985
Upon moving to California Boals joined Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force and performed on the Trilogy album. Boals' first show with Malmsteen was at Day On The Green in San Francisco, CA in front of 80,000 fans. After leaving Yngwie in 1986 Mark was asked to return to lead vocals for Yngwie again in 1996 and performed on several songs on the cover album Inspiration. Boals accepted, and resumed his role as vocalist with Yngwie Malmsteen for the album Alchemy. The band subsequently went on tour.
In March 2000, Boals won the No.1 Vocalist Prize in the Japanese music magazines Burrn! and Young Guitar. At the end of that year, on the same day, his second solo CD, entitled Ring Of Fire and Yngwie Malmsteen's War To End All Wars, with Boals on vocals, were released. However, after many years of musical magic and friendship, the team of Malmsteen and Boals decided to move in different directions, and Boals formed a new band, Ring of Fire, named after his solo album.
Once again in 2005 Malmsteen urgently needed a singer for his current tour, and so once again Boals toured with him in Europe, but only as guest vocalist.
In recent years Boals recorded 3 solo albums as well as three studio albums and one live DVD with his own band, Ring Of Fire.
In 2008 Boals appeared on his first Royal Hunt album Collision Course... Paradox 2. Boals also appeared on Uli Jon Roth's album titled Under A Dark Sky on which he shared vocal duties with Liz Vandall. That band toured around the world with Boals as its frontman. He also worked with such bands like Vindictiv and Wolf, and completed work on the latest Royal Hunt album X which was released in January 2010. Mark has also handled vocal duties for the band Seven The Hardway featuring guitarist Tony MacAlpine which released a self-titled album in August 2010.
After singing backing vocals on Dokken's 2012 album Broken Bones and performing acoustic shows with Don Dokken for a couple of years, Boals was announced as the new full-time Dokken bass player but in 2013 he began carrying the frontman responsibilities for the Dio Disciples, replacing former Judas Priest singer Tim "Ripper" Owens.
For the last 2 years Mark has been performing in the #1 rated musical in Las Vegas, Raiding The Rock Vault, in which he is one of the primary lead vocalists.

AC/DC drummer Simon Wright to do final drum track on new RRO release!
I am so very pleased to announce that the Renaissance Rock Orchestra has recruited AC/DC and Dio drummer Simon Wright to record the final drum track on our new record "In Times Of Olde"!
Simon will be playing on a very prog-ish track called "The Maker Of dreams". It is a piece with numerous and complicated time changes and is an epic 12 minute journey through numerous musical "movements".
Here's a bit more about Mr. Wright!
- Simon Wright is an English drummer best known for his time with rock n' roll bands AC/DC and Dio.He started playing drums at the age of 13. His biggest influences include Cozy Powell, Tommy Aldridge and John Bonham.
At twenty years old Simon joined AC/DC after their drummer, Phil Rudd, left in May 1983. AC/DC recorded three albums with Wright in the mid-late 80s;Fly on the Wall, Who Made Who and Blow Up Your Video. Wright left the group in November 1989 to join Dio. He has had two stints with Dio, 1990–91 and 1998–2010. With Dio Simon recorded four studio albums (Lock up the Wolves, Magica, Killing the Dragon and Master of the Moon) and two live albums (Evil or Divine - Live In New York City and Holy Diver - Live).
Simons drumming can also be heard on albums by UFO and the Michael Schenker Group.
In August 2009, Wright teamed up with Joe Lynn Turner, Phil Soussan and Carlos Cavazo as part of the Big Noize project, playing shows in Iraq and Kuwait and in 2013 joined Geoff Tate's band Operation:Mindcrime.

Hi gang! Thank you all again SO much for your belief and for helping us to create this visionary progressive/classical rock CD! We have been HARD at it recording and mixing the CD for you! Here's a little more about the mighty Joel Hoekstra!
Guitarist Joel Hoekstra is currently in the band Whitesnake. The son of classical musicians, he started out playing cello and piano at a young age, but it was hearing Angus Young of AC/DC that inspired him to start guitar. He was raised in the suburbs of Chicago, but has lived in New York City since 2001. In addition to Whitesnake, over the years he has toured and recorded with Night Ranger, Trans Siberian Orchestra and performed as the lead guitarist in the Broadway musical, Rock of Ages. He also made a cameo appearance alongside Sebastian Bach, Nuno Bettencourt, Kevin Cronin and Debbie Gibson in the big screen movie adaptation. Joel has also played on stage and in studio with Foreigner, Dee Snider, Jeff Scott Soto, Jim Peterik, The Turtles, Big Brother & the Holding Company and many more. Joel has appeared as guest guitarist on That Metal Show on VH1 Classic twice. Legendary drummer Vinny Appice joins RRO on new record!
As the Renaissance Rock Orchestra continues recording "In Times Of Olde" for you we also continue to enlist some of the greatest musicians in the rock world to our ranks! We happily announce that legendary drummer Vinny Appice from John Lennon, Rick Derringer, Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio & Heaven and Hell is laying drums on our new prog rock track "The Ice Age Cometh"!
When he was sixteen, Appice and his band BOMF met John Lennon at Record Plant Studios, leading to him appearing on several Lennon recordings. He moved on to record with Rick Derringer on Derringer (1976), Sweet Evil (1977), and Derringer Live (1977), before forming his own band Axis and recording It's A Circus World (1978).
Appice joined Black Sabbath during the tour in support of the Heaven and Hell album in 1980. He was quickly brought in to replace original drummer Bill Ward, who quit the band mid-tour due to personal issues. Appice arrived for his first show with Black Sabbath at the Aloha Stadium in Hawaii with his entire drum kit packed into the back of a car. Appice subsequently appeared on the Black Sabbath albums Mob Rules (1981) and Live Evil (1982). In late 1982 he left Black Sabbath along with vocalist Ronnie James Dio and formed the band Dio. They recorded Holy Diver (1983), The Last in Line (1984), Sacred Heart (1985), Intermission (1986), and Dream Evil (1987).
In 1992 he returned to Black Sabbath for the Dehumanizer album and tourand then rejoined Dio and they recorded Strange Highways (1994) and Angry Machines (1996).
Appice rejoined his Black Sabbath bandmates Ronnie James Dio, Geezer Butler, and Tony Iommi in 2006 as Heaven & Hell, touring and releasing one studio album, The Devil You Know, before Dio's death in 2010.
Vinny will actually be using the SAME drum kit that he played on when recording the Black Sabbath records! Excellent!
