Being creative forever

This morning I viewed and enjoyed the latest Rod Stewart song Brighton Beach and I was quite impressed. Being 60 or 70 or so doesn't mean you have to stop writing and head for the nursing home. Creativity with our Art can be a rewarding life long process.

Volunteering with Music

This Sunday I volunteered my talent and got to sing for a nice crowd of people who aren't running for office, nor are they trying to find a cure. It was Friends of the Veterans Memorial Pearl Street Pool in downtown Centralia, Washington. I learned to swim there as did all my friends but someone wants to tear it down and make a splash park. So,, this is how we get things done, utilizing the skills and the time we have to give. I'll give you reports as time follows this through. I like to donate to a good cause several times a year. Makes me feel like I'm at least contributing something - giving back.

Another rehearsal !

Just had another great rehearsal with newcomer Kim Pilz to address bringing in more material we can feature with her singing the Lead vocal. Pretty exciting hearing the progress we are making. We got to review the videos we shot last weekend at the SW Washington Fair concert we gave. Band looked and sounded great. Again, Kim is such a great addition as she moves around a lot and really gets into the music, showing such enthusiasm, which in turn is shared with the audience. More to come, stay tuned !

New video featuring original song: please share

" Holes " is an original song played by the Bruce Maier Band and loved by audiences the first time they hear it. Written about a specific genre of homeless persons, Veterans, Bruce Maier considered the possibility that many misunderstood street dwellers and wanderers may be struggling with PTSD or other mental as well as physical afflictions suffered due to exposure to war. A minor key Blues, the song opens into a catchy pop-driven melody that engages the listeners and leaves them wanting to further connect with the story in the final verse.

Back from Canada

Huge thrill for me to perform in White Rock BC at Blue Frog Studios. I met so many new contacts and friends. Also some offers from three different Blues Societies for future shows. Thanks to everyone that made this possible for me, but especially thank you to Kelly Breaks and Jim Widdifield. Check out the video clip from the show here in RN ! Bruce J Maier

Beware of scammers

Just today I was telling a great young local band that while I am indeed interested in helping them perhaps produce a record, be careful who you do business with. Take time to get to know them. What is their track record? What have they done and who do they know. Otherwise, you're wasting time.

Love of Music

When I play a gig, acoustic solo, a duo or with a full band I don't offer the audience a compromise. They get 100% of my energy and focus. pass it on

Bikes, Babes and Blues

Not exactly a Blues Band, the BMB has a nice selection of great Blues and boogie music, Classic Rock and Originals to play for the Harley Davidson show at NW HD in Lacey WA this Saturday the 15th of June. Girls will be there in Bikini's washing shiny things! Bring yours!

Rockin' the 2 Mile House in Olympia

Tonight the BMB played with fire and lit up the whole club starting out with our own " HOLES " and cascading into a flowing tide of hot covers, Blues hits and originals. This is a jam session which occurs weekly and we were hosting for " Blues Bentley "

Great show last weekend!

Last week we played a Wednesday evening Beer Garden show in Olympia and then this past Saturday another outdoor event, the Cascade BBQ Cookoff and Car Show. Lucky for us we didn't get a drop of rain but the band was hot enough to produce steam anyway! Way to go BMB!
