Join the Hat Revolution at the Dapper Cap. On August 19, 2010, The Dapper Cap will hold its monthly
third Thursday event with free alcohol and free live music for those over 21. This month’s performers
include Kiew Nikon and DJ Mello Cee. Artwork by Kiew Nikon will also be on display. The event
takes place from 6-10 pm at 128 NW 23rd Ave in Portland, across from Urban Outfitters.

The Dapper Cap is Portland’s premier hat shop for men, women and children. The third Thursday
event takes place every month featuring local Portland performers and always has free alcohol
available. The Dapper Cap opened its doors in November of 2008 and has since served the headwear
needs of the greater Portland area carrying such brands as Christy’s of London, Peter Grimm,
Nobis, Kangol and Ben Sherman. The Dapper Cap is currently expanding its product line to include
accessories and clothing, recently introducing into the store I.AM by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyes
Peas.

Kiew Nikon music has been described as “futuristic,” “innovative,” “refreshing” and has been
compared to the likes of Aesop Rock and Saafir mixture. As a music maker, multimedia design
and painter he embodies the title of artist and could be called a modern day Renaissance Man. He
started out at 15 as a turntablist and by 16 had evolved into writing and producing his own music.
Kiew performs solo and also with his group that he co-founded, Sick Mediks. Other artists he has
performed with include De La Soul, Kool Keith and Del the Funkyhomosapien. His latest album is
Udoncahmenomah, released from the independent label Substance Mixed Media. DJ Mello Cee is a
Portland based DJ that is known as a staple at the Crown Room. He fuses Hip-hop, R & B and Soul
for an eclectic sound on the turntables.
