“This is my 4th or 5th time seeing Allison Chains and they are one of my favorite tribute bands out there because they are not predictable and the setlist is always varied – sometimes it is very much on the hits side and at other times they have taken the mood to darker places. I like Alice in Chains but am not fanatical about them like some people I see at the shows so it definitely has to be something special to get me to go check out this band so many times. What makes Allison Chains so good is that they play the songs very well and are also fun to watch live. They also take the show and music and make it their own a little. By this I mean that they play hard, take the songs seriously but can also have a lot of fun with them. Few bands can get away with being able to do what they want with another band’s music and still be considered to be a must-see.”
"Allison Chains: I loved them. Not only because they played a tight, explosive, brilliant and utterly memorable set, but also, because they actually changed my opinion about a band. I may have not have been a fan of Alice in Chains in the past, but I do know some basic info about them. And one of the things I know is that their singer, Layne Staley (R.I.P. 2002), was a tormented soul. The war that waged within him was blatantly evident in his lyrics and performances. And one of the things I noticed, and adored about Allison Chains, was how the singer, Allison, conveyed that torment throughout the performance. It was spellbinding. The rest of the band were no slouches either. By “No Slouches” I mean top-notch, boss, rawking, smoldering, sexy.... (continued on UMC web site)
“I did the long haul out to Paladino’s in the Valley to shoot Allison Chains once again. Here we go…ALLISON CHAINS: The band has replaced two of the band members since the last time I saw them and they sounded just as good. If you like Alice In Chains then you will surely like Allison Chains. They put on a fun night of great rock-n-roll and do the band justice. Rating = The full Mano Cornuta!
