"Allison Chains: I loved them. Not only because they played a tight, explosive, brilliant and utterly memorable set, but also, because they actually changed my opinion about a band. They made me rethink my whole ho-hum attitude toward Alice in Chains. It was a revelation I will never forget. I’m downloading Facelift and Dirt as we speak. One more thing. I may have not have been a fan of Alice in Chains in the past, but I do know some basic info about them. And one of the things I know is that their singer, Layne Staley (R.I.P. 2002), was a tormented soul. The war that waged within him was blatantly evident in his lyrics and performances. And one of the things I noticed, and adored about Allison Chains, was how the singer, Allison, conveyed that torment throughout the performance. It was spellbinding. The rest of the band were no slouches either. By “No Slouches” I mean top-notch, boss, rawking, smoldering, sexy.... (continued on UMC web site)
