I became a fan of Volary two years ago. She's a great talent and more importantly, passionate about her work. We befriended each other while working on a music CD for Charity. A year ago, I was recording in Las Vegas and I learned she was in town. I had her number from the Charity connection and called to see if she had time to say hello while she was in town. I invited her to the studio and she agreed to add a backup vocal. Then a second. Then a third! No matter what the producer asked her to sing, she hit her mark each time - on the first take. I was in awe! Skip forward a year to last month. We're adding the final parts to the track in Florida - the "manly" backup vocals. In a recording studio, you get the cool option of the engineer hitting some buttons and all you hear is Volary, who at this time was doubled. So we had SIX Volary vocals and nothing else in our headphones. It was fantastic! All we could do was pick one of her parts and sing it as a man. Then... when we got to the Bridge, Volary had added some really phenomenal "Dit-dit-dits". The producer said "Don't touch it! She sounds like ALL the Supremes together - on their best day!" I agreed, and Sam has the sole backup job there! I think all songs have their trademark hook: maybe a guitar riff. Maybe a cool line. I think the trademark in this song is Volary's backing! Plus, she inspired me to be better. To be a pro! Well worth the price I paid - which I think was a juice and a cookie! Thanks so much Volary.
