Had a great bonfire night gig at the Five Bells in Hessett, Suffolk, shared with local blue-rock band Blue Bark. Despite the miserable rainy weather there was a great turn out with the pub busy the whole evening. The bonfire itself and fireworks display was spectacular, all the more so considering Hessett is not a large place! Congratulations to Dave and Louise on the renovation of the Five Bells and we wish them every success.

Articles on the band have appeared in the Weston Mercury and Burnham Times in Somerset this week (both also available online) and also a feature appeared in the Lifestyle magazine of the Bury Free Press in Suffolk. Cool!

Phew, what a week! After only casually gigging for a few years now a Spex song is played on BBC national radio. The song, "Say What You Want", wins a competition that radio presenter/comedian Patrick Kielty had been running for 9 weeks. Then the band get invited to play it live on his Radio 2 show the following week. And all this 9 years after it was written and recorded! Whatever next?
