Change is always a product of music no matter how often we try to stay the same. With that in mind we are excited to announce Brian Bubba Ison will be taking over the Bass playing responsibilities for the band going forward.
With that news Open Rail would like to thank Perry Cardwell for the four years he spent with the band. Perry will be pursuing other musical and personal interest in the future.
We would also like to mention we have picked up a new endorsement. BBB Music Center in Chillicothe, Ohio has entered into a deal with Open Rail to help keep us in music supplies.
Recording news- We are preparing to go into the studio next month to begin recording a new project. We are doing a lot of original material on this project so we are looking forward to getting it out there to our fans.
Well that just about wraps up our news for this blog. Come visit our website as you will start seeing it change in the weeks ahead. Also our Facebook page is always open for comments and posts. Till the next time keep you grass blue.

Hello Railnation! It has been a while since we have put together a blog post. It seems that we have been so busy. Some of you know we are now back at in the swing of things after a break. We spent the winter reorganizing a little, and trying to get the band's day to day activities under better management. We have add a promotions group called Heavensent Promotions to help get the word out about the Rail. We are busy trying to put a new studio project together. This one will be very interesting for all of the fans of our music, both Gospel as well as the Rail's version of Bluegrass music. Just wanted to take the time and thank all the supporters of our music, and let each of you know that we are thankful to have the greatest bunch of fans in the world. Make plans to be with us this year. We are going to be hosting our Clay School shows again this year, and with the addition of Heat to the School we are going to add some cooler weather shows in there! It is exciting times for us, and hope you will be a part of it as we grow. Take care for now!

Dear Rail Nation!
It seems just like yesterday that we were getting the rust brushed off for another season of bluegrass and here we nearing the end of it already. We still have a lot of shows coming up, and look forward to them all! We are also begining to work up new songs for our fourth project. We have had a great songwriter in the band, and some great writers offering us some music to cut so we are doing an all original material album this time. As always come and see us when you can, bring and friend, and we will all have a great time . Thanks

Well we are now in the grind of the Bluegrass Season. It has been fun thus far! We traveled most recently to Mt. Airy NC and found the city and folks there to be the greatest! We played at our hotel for a while and had a crowd by the second tune. We went to the Fiddlers convention and jammed under our tent and had a crowd. It amazes us in the band that folks enjoy what we do. I don't care how often we play and hear people tell us we are good I always stand amazed. We have also started our bluegrass concerts at Clay School. A huge thank you to those that made the first show a huge success! We have many more shows planned this year, come be a part of one with us if you can. Oh Grace United Methodist in Gallipolis... WE HAD A BLAST !!! Singing old hymns with these folks will knock your socks off! We are doing it again soon. I will get back with you on the date and times. I think I was told there will be ice cream as well. Bring a friend... heck bring the whole block the church holds 700ish and we would love to see it full!!! Till next time keep your grass blue, and your music in time!
