Off on another new journey...
I sit here at my desk & am so grateful to be able to do something I love, something that can help people with sad hearts, rough times, love, anger, questions, confusion, loss, emptiness, bliss. Music is an amazing power that can reach down into peoples' souls... & I get to share moments at shows with fans, friends, & family to connect just like that. Thank you, thank you, thank you...
Looking back at 2018 shows, they were so many magical moments for me as a singer, as a guitarist, as bass player, & as a band leader…too many to list, but I’d like to give big shout-out to the many talented musicians that I surround myself with as GYPSY FUZZ:Keith Giosa/bass, vocals, keys; Becca Doughty/drums, percussion; Dan Kauffman/guitar, bass, vocals; Gretchen Schultz/vocals, percussion; Rich Bellando/drums. Also Judy Mould as guitar tech/stage crew and merch-girl/stage crew Jenn “Wizzy” Wismer. Words cannot express the appreciation & love for these folks! I also have to send some love to my main photographers Doerthe Externest, Sharon Gray, Gary Regulski…

music over the years...!
I was recently driving to a gig & caught a piece on NPR on Alan Lomax, the American field collector of folk music of the 20th century. He was also a folklorist, ethnomusicologist, archivist, writer, scholar, political activist, oral historian, and film-maker. He was talking about a trip to Europe that ended up being 10 years because he could not stop recording traditional pieces from different countries...it was really entertaining & inspiring to hear what he captured...& then the radio piece played Americana artists that spoke of everything from roots, to folklore, to politics, to gospel...It made my drive pleasant as I heard his field recordings/portable recordings! Some of this music is not really "my taste" or my top choice to listen to, however, this journey into history reminded me of HOW MUCH MUSIC PLAYS A PART IN OUR LIVES, in any country, in any city or town across the world....once thing that Mr. Lomax said that stood out to me was that the folk music in the US has 100 + years of stories/inspiration, but when he was in Europe, he was taken aback when realizing the thousands of years of stories/inspiration....WOW, when you try to wrap your head around it, lol...Anyway, I just wanted to share this with you...totally random, but, interesting, when hearing about a person with a passion...
