Faith or Feeling

RIVERSIDE CHATS WITH JENNIFER

Faith or Feeling? When we pray and ask God to do things for us and our prayers return void, we are quick to say that God hasn't heard us; he has not fulfilled our wishes. We act as if He is a genie to just ask to give us things then, boom... it's on our doorstep in record time. God is not Fedex or UPS. He does things in His own way. First, let’s strongly examine our faith. I’ll give an example: there was a time in my life when I would beg of God to answer my requests. I would plea for a new home, another baby, to be an overcomer. etc. I would ask God to provide but when I "felt" my prayers going unanswered, my faith would begin to waver. Without faith, it is impossible to please Him. We have to remember that being a Child of God is not a feeling! We live in a materialistic world. Our feelings can go up and down at a moment’s notice. Our feelings can't be trusted to gauge whether our Father in Heaven is keeping up His end of the bargain. When Jesus died on the cross for our sin, He did his part in providing for our deliverance. Our part is to have faith through Calvary's provision. We should rise up in faith. We should exercise our faith. Not because God granted our wishes but because He is God. We should have faith even when we don't get our way. When we exercise faith, we are pleasing God. Isn't that what it's about anyway? Some may say, “I need this bill paid or I want my sickness gone or my child to get it together.” Don't you think the God that sees and is all, is also one that cares about you? I have often struggled with why this big God would even love a little speck on earth like me. I am nothing, I have done nothing compared to others, but thankfully God doesn't work that way. He cares for even little old me. Isn't that so cool? So if he cares for me then He will supply my needs according to His riches in Glory! Don't lose faith if the enemy has established doubt in your heart. Keeping fighting the good fight! Matthew 19:26 KJV: But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Challenge:

Write down your prayer requests and pray over each one. Keep in mind that if the feeling of doubt enters, or you think that God is answering your prayers differently than you wished, remember you are not God, you don't know the future, and that only God knows. Leave it in His hands and exercise your faith. Romans 10:17 KJV: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Read your Bible and ponder on His Word. Read scriptures on faith. Keep your heart open to what He has to say!

Change Is Good

We are growing at Rhonda Frye Music Ministries. I am in the process of putting together a group and I’m excited to announce, Lauren Huckabee is teaming up with me! Lauren and I have been singing together for the last few months, and I’ve really grown to love her. She has an incredible alto voice. In fact, some of my industry friends say- she’s one of the best they’ve ever heard. Recently an industry professional noted that she was the “most poised speaker they had ever seen!” Believe me, coming from this person, that was a huge, sincere piece of encouraging feedback! That makes me excited and proud because she is packed with potential! Lauren is a great speaker and singer, but her testimony of deliverance and what God has done in her life is amazing. I am seeing the Holy Spirit working through her and it is beautiful sight to see. I think you all are going to love her! Lauren and I share a desire to do more than sing. We want to share our gifts, talents and testimonies in the conventional avenues, but also in the non- conventional places as well. Lauren is equipped to address the issues of substance abuse to women and also to youth groups. I’m so excited- because with my desire to incorporate children’s music ministry and her desire to minister to youth- we’re praying a few more doors could open for us to share the love of God through testimony and music.

MINISTRY NEEDS

1. Keyboard Case: As we work out our program sets, we’re excited to add a little live music! I play keyboard, but haven’t been consistent with taking it out- BUT… That’s going to change! Remember? Change is good! I do have one problem though… I NEED A CASE FOR IT! My “Baby Kaye” is an 88 key Korg Triton Workstation??? So- The Bible says… “you have not because you ask not!” So- does anybody have a case to donate to our ministry? If not… Does anyone know where I can get a great deal on one? I do think having it along will add a lot to what we’re planning to do. Since we are a 501-C Non Profit- If you donate a case or make a donation for that purpose, I will certainly give you a receipt for tax purposes.

2. Mailing List: If you would like to keep up with Rhonda Frye Music Ministries, please message me. We are in the process of putting together a mailing list to inform our friends of what God is doing in the life of our ministry. You can message me on the Rhonda Frye Music Ministries Fan Page if you’re interested in being on our mailing list.

3. Your SUPPORT! You can support us in many ways. For one, will you “Like” our Facebook page and possibly share with your friends? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rhonda-Frye-Music-Ministries/100078992698

4. Help us spread the word that we are available! We are working on scheduling events for this fall. We have our equipment and a plan- ofcourse subject to change- lol, but we’re ready! So- please email me at rfmusicministries@gmail.com if you would like to schedule us to minister at your event.

PRAYER NEEDS

We are in the process of starting auditions for a 3rd voice, so PLEASE be in prayer. We truly want what is best for EVERYONE involved. We’ve been blessed to have some great friends to fill in, but we’re anxious to fill the spot.

I appreciate prayers as I will be heading out to Oklahoma for the Seminole Gospel Sing and to Pigeon Forge for Patterson Promotions Anniversary Singing… and then, Louisville! And then, Pigeon Forge! SO VERY EXCITED!

One More- I’m excited and nervous to work on my songwriting again! I have a co-write scheduled next week and I’m getting ready to work with Phil Cross on a very special song my co-writer, Eva and I have been working on for…..way too long! YAY! God made it very clear last week at the Steve Hurst School of Music that it is time to take it out of the closet!

So- Be looking for changes to the website- and also please keep up with Rhonda Frye Music Ministries on Facebook!

December 2009

Where has this year gone? Wow! It has truly been an amazing year. I have so much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to. God is so good and He continues to blow my mind as I walk with Him day by day! This past month my song "Second Chances" was featured in Scoops Magazine as a free download. The song "Second Chances" was the 2nd song I wrote and is my testimony song. I literally wrote it on yellow post it notes as the lyrics flooded my spirit on the playground where I was teaching at the time. God promised me that many people would hear my testimony in song and He is blowing my mind as I watch His faithful promises unfold to reality. I'm looking forward to new things in 2010. For one, I've been approached by a book publisher about the possibility of writing a book. I am excited about that, but still praying if I should do it or not. What do you think? Also, I do have several songs I'm working on in the studio- all are coming along nicely. I'm excited about 2010- We are one year closer to the return of Christ! I'm looking forward to sharing His love and explaining what a difference a relationship with Him can make! :-) He brings joy, love, peace and stability like nothing or noone else could possibly bring! :-) God loves you more than you know and He is closer than you think! If I can ever help you begin a relationship with Him or help you nurture the one you have, please contact me! Blessings! Rhonda
