Giggity-giggity!

We are back out gigging very soon. 25th November in Hindley Green and 4th December in Sutton-in-Ashfield. It would be great to see you there!

To quote the great philosopher Quagmire:

"He-he, awlright!"

New Guitarist!!!

We are delighted to announce that our new guitarist is Russ Kelly! Russ has been in several bands and also worked in musical theatre, including 12 months in the West End. He is a superb player and has a great sense of humour - he has fitted in straight away. We'll be announcing some gigs soon....!

Guitar hot-shot on loan!

Hi all,

Our search for a new guitarist has had us looking both far and wide. It's been really difficult so far. There really aren't many guitarists good enough to fill Des' shoes! There are however lots and lots, of time-wasters, dreamers and ego-maniacs!!!!

Despite this a fantastic opportunity has presented itself to "borrow" an incredible guitarist from Columbian hard rockers Baja Cero. So please welcome Alejandro Alberto Zuleta Gil to the Silent Victory family!!! How good is he? Check these videos out and see:

You can also check his band out at:

Alejandro has offered to cover until November, when he will be returning home to Columbia. We are of course continuing to search for a new guitarist all the while.

We are getting close to finding a permanent drummer too, so watch this space!

Cheers,

SV

Sad news

Hi all,

It's with great sadness that I have to announce that Des and Dave have both left the band. It came as a great shock, but there are no hard feelings and we will remain friends and no doubt some guest appearances will happen down the line at some point!

Des was a founder member of the band and the past seven years have been a blast. We have developed a strong writing partnership, which the band will miss. On stage we always had a laugh, but genuinely delivered the goods! Although he and I approached the guitar from almost opposite ends (not literally), we gelled and always appreciated what the other one brought. Des has decided though that the commitment required for the band is a step above what he can offer us and has decided to walk away before we plan our autumn/winter. He will be out gigging his solo prog music, which has always been a burning passion for him.

Dave has taken time to consider Des' departure and decided that the commitment is also to much for him to combine with his worklife too. Dave's a great drummer (and a ridiculously loud one too) plus he's a man with a wicked and somewhat twisted sense of humour. The band stepped up to another level when he joined 4 years ago. Dave can also still be seen out on the live circuit as he's going to be playing in a local covers band.

Myself, Justin and Martin want to wish them both well. But you're gonna miss this boys...

We'll also post some links to update you all on their progress in the near future.

For our part, we'll carry on regardless. Our mission is to find two guys are can fill the huge void left by Des and Dave. Interested parties please drop us an email here. We'll keep everyone updated on our progress.

So I'm now the last founder member. But I'm not alone. Watch this space.

Tony

Gig date changes

Hi all, Our Manchester gig has been moved back to 1st May and unfortunately we've had to postpone our Doncaster gig too. Hopefully we'll arrange a different date for that one, but we'll let you know soon. Cheers, SV

New Line-Up

Hi All, At last, we are finally able to announce that we have completed our new line-up! Please say hello to our new keyboard player Martin Greenwood! Martin was originally in legendary 70's prog-rock band Mudanzas. Since then he's worked in a variety of bands, but the lure of playing original material again was too great. As soon as we met him, he fitted straight in. He has a much more up front style than our former keyboard player and won't be afraid to take a solo! Along with fellow new adition, Justin "Timberlake" Beswick on bass, we now have a line-up stronger than ever. The turmoil that we went through in losing Neil and Rob at such a crucial time, really damaged the momentum that we had from the album launch and all our plans were put on hold. The reviews were excellent, we had magazine features, radio interviews, radio airplay and a lot of interest in the band. But since the launch party, we haven't be able to gig or tour and there were so many people wanting to come and see us. But that is all about to change! For the next 6-8 weeks, we'll be rehearsing hard and we'll be announcing some low-key gigs to warm up for some hopefully excellent support slots. We'll keep you all informed. Its a releif to get back to strength again and we hope that we've not lost any follower of the band. We promise you that the best is yet to come! Cheers, SV

Fireworks magazine interview

Hi All, The lastest issue of Fireworks magazine is out now and available from your local WHSmiths. Its packed with interviews with some of the biggest rock bands in the world: The Rolling Stones, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Silent Victory....? Ok, so maybe we aren't one of the biggest, but damn it, we have a 2 page interview! And our long lost album review is in this issue. Hurrah! Run out and buy it NOW! We'd like to take the opportunity to say thanks to Steven Reid for the interview and review and to Bruce Mee, for allowing our ugly mugs to be printed in his fine magazine. Support and exposure like this really matters and makes a difference to small bands like ourselves and we really appreciate it. Cheers! Lastly we are getting close to annoucing the name of our new bass player, but there a few loose ends to tie up first. After we get him on board, we hope to be back out gigging soon as a four piece until we find the right keyboard player. We'll keep you posted. Cheers, Tony, Des and Dave

Keyboard player urgently needed!

Hi All, Unfortunately we have parted company with both Neil and Rob, due to the weight of commitments that they both had. They were unable to balance that against the demaands of the band. We'd like to wish them both well for the future. We now need to find a new bass player and keyboard player urgently. We have a lot of plans for the band for next year and need we don't want to have to cancel anymore gigs! If you live in the north-west, like our music and think that you are good enough, please send us an email. Ous plans include a tour, festival appearances, video to support a single (this one is urgent!) and of course we are currently writing material for our second album which we intend to release towards the end of next year. If this sounds good, what are you waiting for? Email now! Tony, Des and Dave

Moving on up!

Hi All, The Music World Chart is out again and we've climbed one place to 17! Thanks to everyone for voting. We'd really like to stay in the chart though and we need everyone to vote again to keep us there! www.topchoons.com Cheers, SV
