So the Blue Bird show was amazing when we finished the first thing I said to JT was “best show ever”. We then grabbed hands and carrouseled around the stage for a full five minutes until Jason and Sam smugly asked “what the F are you two doing”? The music stopped we packed up and loaded off. I still think it was our best show ever. Thanks to the legions who attended sorry about the line to get in. I know some of you missed the first couple of songs we’ll make it up to you I promise.
The band we opened for Jonathan Tyler and Northern Lights was amazing truly one of the best bands I’ve seen live they simply killed it if you like Rock with a healthy dose of Soul then these guys (and gal) are for you. I also have to add that over the years Rosalie has had the good fortune to open for a lot of other national touring bands some of which have been cool, but for the most part Nationals suck. They come in and act like they’re Gods gift. They roll back stage and its all “what’s ups” and “yeah cools”, but JT (as Jonathan Tyler introduced himself as) and the rest of his crew were genuinely nice guys. We talked about the merits of Bukowski, watched funny You Tube video’s, smoked … cigarettes, drank whisky, hi-fived, ass slapped and wrote some funny shit on the walls ... shenanigans I tell you. Bottom line is they’re just good folk and that always comes across on stage.
The band is off for the next couple of weeks, but don’t fret I’m playing a few solo acoustic shows around the Denver metro area to get you by. I’m at the Mile High Market place Cantina from noon to 3 this Sunday the 12th at 88th and I-76, you can bet your sweet ass I’ll be showing up early to peruse the miles of aisle’s for unbeatable bargains. I always find quality Vinyl out there. I’ve got my eye out for some Otis Redding this weekend … you will be mine. I’m also playing the Hi-Dive at 7 South Broadway Sept 16th opening for the always well dressed Hollyfelds and a touring band from Seattle called the Starlings the doors are at 8 show is at 9, but I’ll be at the bar by 7 drinking my allotment of 3 complementary PBR’s, so please come out and have a drink with me. I always feel a little creepy in a bar by myself just maybe a little bit like Billy Bob Thornton in Slingblade constantly scratching at my head and talking about rebuilding lawnmower engines and how good yellow mustard is to anyone who will listen.

We're playing the Blue Bird Theater opening for Jonathan Tyler and Northern Lights from Dallas TX. The show starts at 9 doors are at 8. We'll be debuting a new song called "War Bride". We're really excited about this one it’s a good example of where we're at right now as a band. I had originally written it to be the first song on a concept album that I started as I was going Brian Wilson crazy, growing a beard, and pilling sand up all over my living room floor when I first moved to Berthoud. I had an idea to do an entire album chronicling the life of a young couple … babies, jail, fights you know the good stuff. I wanted to have some William Shatner esq spoken word and possibly 50,000 didgeridoo’s. Anyway I really liked this one and thought it could be a Rosalie song so I brought what bones I had to the band a few weeks ago we changed a few things around everyone added their parts and bingo we've got a hit. So make your ”call in sick” plans for Thursday the 9th now. Might I suggest food poisoning? The symptoms don’t last long so you wont be forced to fake symptoms when you return to work, or even better call in both Thursday and Friday no body will ever doubt it if you have the balls to call in 2 days in a row.
War Bride
she was 17 pretty as a peach
a small town girl dreams out of reach
she thought she'd stick around maybe for awhile
fall in love with a boy down the road
number 14 the only heart she'd know
she thought she'd stick around maybe for awhile
it dont take much it dont take much at all
it dont take much it dont take much at all
for the dominos to fall
they met lonely in a crowded room
when all their friends left too soon
they thought they'd stick around maybe for awhile
she said my name is Sara man I see you before
burned up and busted washed out on the shore
you thought you'd stick around maybe for awhile
it dont take much it dont take much at all
it dont take much it dont take much at all
for the dominos to fall
he left the letter lying in the mail
seems uncle sam was sending him to jail
he thought he'd stick around maybe for awhile
buy a pretty white dress and little diamond ring
the biggest house anyone had ever seen
they thought they'd stick around maybe for awhile
it dont take much it dont take much at all
it dont take much it dont take much at all
for the the dominos to fall
