We played 6 of our songs at The Sun, Swalwell on Sat 21st March, we had a good time playing first Drifting In and Out, Ion Days and Sack the Bored then a while later An Open Door, Ray of Sunshine and Touch Me Gently.
Our audience were great, they seemed to be having a great time while we alternately soothed then shocked them with an eclectic mix of our own songs.
We should be repeating buskers' nights in the near future, then hopefully we will get some gig events going where we can play a fuller set: maybe a dozen or more of our songs. Wish us luck!

Okay alongside Iraq, Obama becoming US President, the recession and credit crunch this isn't big news...but it meant a lot to us! Solar Visions had their first 5 minutes of fame last night in Newcastle upon Tyne at the Star Inn, Westgate Road where we played three of our songs at the regular Thursday "open mic" slot. The Star wasn't heaving but it wasn't empty and we got plenty applause and some great comments after the show.
The songs we played (after changing our minds every 5 minutes) were Sack the Bored (an ode to charvas everywhere), Drifting In and Out (new wavey and full on) and Touch me Gently (a minute and a half of punky/hippy fusion, just enough time to roll a cigarette, or whatever!) There were some problems with the sound due to a missing guitar amplifier and pedal problems for guitar effects, but some of that was fixed by the mixer as we played and the audience were good enough not to hold it against us.
Next up is open mic/buskers at The Sun Inn in Swalwell, date to be confirmed but it will be a Saturday, and a possible full set there in the not-too-distant. Wish us luck everyone and no tampering with our space-suits we ready for blast off!

Hi and welcome to this little bit of cyberspace where I appear sometimes to live. I hope you like the music here it's taken quite a bit of work to get it all here on the net and I'm quite proud of it so there you go.
Solar Visions, the band I am a member of are a bunch of space-rockers playing music inspired by blues, metal and bands like Hawkwind, Pink Floyd and Gong: psychedelic and in many ways quite mad music which I certainly have no problem with; Chasmos is my spin-off from Solar Visions, I have recorded some Hawkwind and Pink Floyd covers and some original music and while I have enlisted the help of some of my fellow-Visionaries we are all happier to keep these songs seperate from the band so I use the name Chasmos to differentiate these from our other material. The music here is a mixture of Visions and Chasmos tunes and Chasmos has a myspace site of its own at www.myspace.com/chasmos .
Xmas '08 my partner very kindly paid for some new music equipment for me and her family bought me two pieces of music gear I have not owned in a long time: a blues harmonica and a guitar slide! To say thank you for all of this I recorded, after some practice with my new slide "B'wrd Blu's", an instrumental with backwards lead guitar-this is easy to do with computerised recording and has been done for many years in recording studios by artists like Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles; not that I'm comparing Chasmos or Solar Visions to them, that would be daft, though inspired by them would definitely be true.
Anyway have a listen, Solar Visions are planning some new recordings of songs some of which are here and on our MySpace sites www.myspace.com/solarvisions and www.myspace.com/motleyhall and http://leo1564.co.uk (motleyhall and leo1564 also cover "Ethereal Outcasts" another band we share members with) probably some new tunes as well, so you've got something to look forward to!!!! (I hope). Tara for now.
