Another decade of dull?

Great music is not dying… it is growing and growing by the day. I find great music and bands all over the place. Its reassuring. In this present technology filled ruckus, it can feel overwhelming to find your place as a musician, or in any other field for that matter. I particularly am not too fond of social media. It has its place, and is a great way to connect… but too much of it can take someone away from whats really going on around them… in the REAL world.

History continues to repeat itself, as always… and based on that fact, rest assured, something big ( musically speaking) is about to overflow… and its going to be incredibly beautiful and satisfying. Remember the late 80's ( I was young, but I've done my research), when hair metal bands were all over the place? It became the same thing… over and over. And it became dull. Every band was doing the exact same thing… just like it is today in " popular" music. Today, all I hear on the modern radio is auto tuned lyrics, overly polished guitars, etc. These are what I call " entertainers." They are not musicians. In fact, most of them aren't even writing their songs to begin with. The songs are handed to them and they are told, under contract, to sing it ( which most of them have no problem with at all).

Back to the point: Then came the 90's...

All of the sudden, the Seattle scene broke out and shook everyone from their apathy. The industry had no choice but to latch on to the new sound... Bands like NIN, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Pearl Jam, etc. made it all worthwhile again. Before the scene broke, these musicians/ bands were a part of one culture… and they did it together. Thats what made them strong… a force. The only difference between underground bands then and now, in my opinion, is that most bands ( not everyone of course… but most) are in it for themselves, and not looking at the big picture. They aren't looking at the other great bands that they could be standing alongside, cheering their success on… supporting them completely because they have something genuine to say, and their music is pushing the boundaries of the norm. If we just make this simple switch in our minds, we can become an incredible force once again. Its really that simple.

Things have become undyingly dull in the popular music culture since the early 90's…and you know what that means? Thats means its time for something big to happen once again.

This is for every real musician I know , and every real musician I don't know… keep creating and inspiring others… there is a reason you do what you do. You have incredible purpose… an incredible destiny that goes beyond you…together, we can achieve that destiny. Apart, and its going to be another decade of dull.

Recording

Just wanted to give you all a brief summary on how things are going with the recording process.

We are currently finishing up just about all of the music tracking and will soon be moving to vocals. The songs sound very interesting and have progressed far from what they used to be. We are extremely happy to bring this new album to the table. When all is said and done, our only hope is that you enjoy the music and find it to be something that you can all connect to in some small way. This way, we can all be connected in a very large way... and that would be a wonderful thing. The delay on the album's release seems long I'm sure. Just know that we are working very hard each day to make it the best that it can possibly be. The process is both fulfilling and tedious at the same time. But we wouldn't trade a single second of it for the world. It may be hard to get by sometimes, but as long as you do what you love, you can not go wrong... and that is exactly what we are doing now. We miss you all and can't wait to see you again very soon. Thanks for all of your patience- we sincerely appreciate it. Please write to us any time through our website: contact@auntange.com. We would love to hear from each and every one of you.

Best regards,

Patrick
