Dear Runaway Slide Fans,
After four years of performing together we have come to a decision to part ways. As you can imagine this was a painful decision but it will allow us to move forward towards our individual musical interest.
We received our first big break when we performed at the The Prix Étoiles Galaxie de Radio-Canada contest at the Tremblant Blues Festival back in 2007 at the age of twelve. A year later we were surprised and honoured by winning the Lys Blues Upcoming Band award ...

This year the Trois Rivieres en Blues festival organisation held a competition for up and coming musicians called Concours de la relève, Nouvelles génération Trois-Rivièeres en Blues! We were not part of the contest but we were invited guests to perform after the contest winners were announced. Other invited guests during this contest, which took part over a series of dates included; Bharath and his Rythm four, Trevor Finlay. John Campbelljohn and Jack de Keyzer.

For the second year in a row Runaway Slide were invited to perform at Donnacona's Au Rythme du Blues Festival. The organizers sure know how to put on a show and the people of Donnacona really appreciate music. We played a 45 minute set and the crowd showed us their love throughout our performance.



We even had some fans that were singing along to our song "28." We really appreciated seeing that.


As always, after our performance we took some time to go greet our fans and sign some posters.

On July 30th, 2010 the Cure One, Cure all benefit concert was held at the Underworld venue to raise funds for the Weekend To End Women's Cancers. A total of $1010 was raised. This benefit was organised by Samanth and Rebecca Mossa who will use the funds to participate in the Montreal Weekend to End Womens Cancers in late August. The Tremblant International Blues Festival is an gig that we are honored to receive and this was our third year that we were given our own stage. Tremblant is a beautiful location to be playing outdoors and your always guaranteed to have blues loving fans in the audience. It's been a while since we last performed on stage so we were pretty excited about this show. Not to mention that the club that we were at, Bourbon Street West, is one of the best places for sound, lights, a large stage and lots of blues fans.

We haven’t posted in our blog for a while. We’ve been focusing on creating some new songs together and getting our set list ready for the summer festival season. Our plan was to have a CD released for this summer. We’re a little behind schedule on that goal. :(

Another video that we wanted to share with you is our rendition of Catfish Blues that was recorded at the Trois-Rivières en Blues festival back in August 2009.

This song was first recorded by a little known African-American blues singer/guitarist known at Robert Petway in 1941. Later, Muddy Waters used the lyrics and style of "Catfish Blues" for his first single "Rollin' Stone", the song from which the band The Rolling Stones chose their name from.
