Pocahontas Velasquez

It was finally about time that I write you a poem
A collection of Johnny words that you can call all your own
A connection of subjects, adjectives and verbs
All put together to come up with this verse
I know little of you
But a lot of how you look
In a man's imagination
Your pictures can fill up a book
Your facial expressions
Sometimes cute, sometimes funny
Sometimes goofy, sometimes crazy
But with a smile always dipped in honey
And eyes sent from Heaven
A jawline of a cheetah
When you walk past the pigeons

In Times Of Sickness

The bell has rung
The girl has won
Her prize: a man
With which to have fun
And share news with
Both good and great
And in times of sickness
He'll bring the plate
And a glass of juice
Onto her bed
Then fluff her pillow
Under her head
Then run the water
For the warm bath
Then watch her sleep
As the hours pass.

Love Is Work

I'm not one to gossip
But I'm the first to tell
That life with you and all you bring
Is such a fairytale
I'd be silly to dismiss
The role of God in all of this
And ignorant to ignore
My good deeds done before
Meeting you was lucky
Loving you is work
But when you love what you do
It never feels like work

Dear liver this
Dear liver that
Dear hangover assault
When the night ends at 4
It got dark past midnight
Fistfight invite
ATM withdrawals
Jameson hits walls
Dear day 1: I won't drink again!
Dear day 2: Hey alcohol how you been?
Dear day 3: I've been okay how about you ?
Dear day 4: Reunited and it feels so good.

The 13th Rose (MP)

Once upon a time
Before the 13th roseCame a girl named rhymeAnd a boy named proseWho met on time on an untimely routeThen never once asked "how'd this chemistry come about?"Instead they were led by the instinct in their headsCombined with the interest of a kid in another little kidPlaying in the sand with their ragdoll's hair as they stand and they sitImpatient as kids on Christmas Eve or on Easter DayIn each other we found the purpose thatLike has for each and everyone of usWe met, locked hands...

White Widow

I light the flame of pure escapeI run side by side with just enough self-hateI hide on clouds and glasses made for shotsI'm probably lying more often than not
I'll cry you a riverIf you sing me a songI'd never buy it againIf I could weather the storm
He's such a creep after just ten hitsHe's so annoyed that he throws bitchy fitsI can't separate him from me I don't really want toBecause it's comforting

Walk on by And don't look downStep every stepWith a firm and happy frownDesperate actionsInherent fearChoke on the oxygenGo blind in the clear
It's not your place To lecture meI'm always rightMy insecuritiesBack me upAnd shut you upSo leave me aloneAnd come over at eight

Help!

If he can do it Then so can I If he's not bleedingThen why would I?
Look at me faintWhile still awakeStinging silverTests my faith
I thought I was strongerBut he is strongerI hate the excuse "Oh it's 'cause he's older"The feeling of bliss Has no ageJust like no angelIs locked in a cage
We'll dance on mountainsAnd scream really loudWe'll do this faithfullyTill we've attracted a crowd
Help!

Away In The End

Still remember when you saidEverything you love is deadStrangers knocking on your doorWho could ask for anymore?
Everyone that you knowGoes away in the end
And everytime I close my eyesThink of you when you would cryIt hurt me more than you could knowHurts me every time I go
Everyone that you know Goes away in the end

Thinking of you is a poem unto itselfThe lack of words convinces me thatMy feelings for youTranscend language
The past scratches at the presentYet the present glances forward

1:15 a.m. luck made pride
Let down its prideFor a split secondIt took only that split secondFor magic to enter the room
Now we're both looking for the light switchAnd occasionally our hands touch
