Cardiff's own triplenoisebassterrorpopthreat Exit_International's 'Black Junk' has been confirmed as part of the 12 albums that made the shortlist for the Welsh Music Prize 2012 (http://www.welshmusicprize.com). The Welsh Music Prize was created in 2011 by Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens and festival promoter and music industry expert John Rostron. The prize, which was launched to coincide with SWN festival - one of the UKs biggest independent music festivals, celebrates the finest music made in Wales or by Welsh people around the world.

Following such an incredible year already for E_I - Starting with many 'Bands to watch in 2012' features, a week of airplay on BBC Radio 1 (Fearne Cotton, Greg James & more playing a song about a petrol-powered sex toy – a highlight of the year for any given band – agree?) a successful UK debut headline tour, a trip to Japan to perform alongside Pledgemusic success story / The Wildheart's Frontman Ginger Wildheart and a sold out 'Chainsaw Song' single - 'Black Junk's nomination brings the last 12 months full circle as we continue work on our 2nd album...not that the year is over yet...E_I will be taking another overseas trip before the end of 2012, along with these choice dates:

EXIT_INTERNATIONAL - UK TOUR - THANK YOUS

Hello all! Final show of the tour at Hobo's in Bridgend was a great way to end the tour! All the best to the Milestone lads - great first gig!

We would like to thank EVERYONE who came to the shows (and those few who went the extra mile and came to a few more...), sang along, bought merch, chatted shit with us, and those absolute STARS who gave us places to crash - THANK YOU ALL!

The band would like to thank Mikee Junko (FEROX SPLITTER VAN HIRE) for driving the shit out of the UK and being a fucking legend, and Angelo who came along and helped sell our wears, and skinning up like a pro.

*UPDATE* Exit_International on BBC Radio 1 - Airplay for 'Chainsaw Song'

Welcome, persons. E_I fans are nuts, passionate and awesome - but we will get to that in a minute. Our new single 'Chainsaw Song' has been playlist on BBC Radio 1. That is a result in itself. PROOF: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/playlist/ Release date TBC, but we will have pre-orders for the strictly LIMITED EDITION (possibly coloured) VINYL for you very soon. We recorded two brand new tracks and have reworked another for this release = bang for your buck. Exciting. Today (Monday 27th) a shitload of you good people tuned into Fearne Cotton's show where we were scheduled for the first play of the week. I know a lot of you guys, against your will and your musical tastes, were extremely patient and sat out the whole show only to find yourselves a little disgruntled at the fact, well....we didn't get played. At 12.45 I felt the same thing. I made a few enquiries. As it transpires - 'The Live Lounge' part of today's show was the culprit. Yip - Blame Dappy and Brian May for over-running and giving the producers of the show no choice but to axe our moment of glory. This is where you lot come in. I was told by someone at the station (Who I cannot thank enough for all his help and support) that the production team saw an overwhelming amount of support via text / tweets for E_I, and especially following the show - the 'passion' really came out to play. I have been told we have an EXTREMELY loyal and intense fanbase who were airing their feelings on the situation, and of that we should be proud - which we fuckingbloody are. I have been assured that the following schedule will be adhered to 100%. Being us, shit happens all the time, but fuck it.
