Album, Caravan, ?uestlove, Swift Technique at KFN

Well a whole lot has happened since our last update. We are more than halfway finished with the writing process and making good headway toward getting back into the studio to cut our debut full length album.

After a short hiatus from the stage, we returned with a set full of freshly new and improved songs at the Caravan Music Festival 2011 up in Maine. Then we came back down to open up for none other than ?uestlove himself of the legendary Roots Crew. Could not have asked for a better night. All went as planned and we're still moving.

We've got some great photos posted and also a video of us performing the Spring Garden with Sonni of the Underwater Sounds at the ?uest show. Right now we're still writing. Trying to raise some money to throw toward merchandise and hopefully getting together a tour out of state at some point in the distant future.

Our next show will be at Kung Fu Necktie on August 24, opening up for local funk/hip hop phenom Swift Technique. Come out and support; we'd love to see you there.

Thanks for reading, MD

Live tracks, recorded tracks, album underway

We're more or less done in the studio for now and we've got two new songs mixed and mastered. Also, playing with Philadelphia Slick was a pleasure as expected, and we've just posted one of the songs from that set. Hopefully this will help give a taste of the jumps we've made from Cookinville to the stage.

In other news, many shows to come both in and out of Philly. The creative process has begun and the new album is becoming a more realistic endeavor with each day. So yeah, new songs, live tracks, new album in the works, stay tuned and check the websites for listening and info. Thanks.

Reverb Nation, Studio, Philly Slick

Alright, so now we've finally gotten moving with the promotional side of things and I hope this pays off for those who were looking for us after any previous shows. I apologize for it being so difficult to find us; the problem was that the album was made before the band was formed, and so the myspace page was under my name, Vice Verse, instead of my band's, Abstract Verses. In any case, Abstract Verses can now be reached at Revert Nation and Facebook, and I'd imagine we'll also be making a separate page for Abstract Verses instead of Vice Verse in the near future. In other news, Abstract Verses will be getting in the studio around early March to record the live arrangements of Cookinville and we've been working on a number of originals as well. Keep in touch and we'll keep you posted. Best, Vice P.S. We're opening for Philly Slick on April 6th, and they've got one of the illest hip-hop acts in Philly that I've seen in a while. If you've dug any of our shows, you'll surely love this next one.
