Songs From an American Movie, Vol. 1: Learning How to Smile

So I recently (last night) came across a copy o Everclear's album "Songs From an American Movie, Vol. 1: Learning How to Smile." If you're not intimate with this album, you should go buy it dinner tonight. Then have a few drinks, take it back to your place and make sweet, sweet love to it all night. It will make sure you finish, it even says so on track ten. This is one of the biggest albums of my childhood and one of the best albums of it's time. Spanning from fun, poppy tracks to an intensely moving symphonic ballad to the frontman's daughter, this one is a full spectrum of emotion. It's a strangely comfortable album seeing as it's by far the furthest in the pop direction that Everclear ever has gone, but for that reason demonstrates the supreme songwriting talant of the group. I'm amazed at the direct storytelling style throughout most of the songs and yet the natural, flow of each.

Simply put, you should own this album. Hands down. Go get it.
