LIQUID SKY have a rich performing and recording legacy, first gaining attention with their self-released EPs “Adrenochrome” and “Nightfall” and the album “Bloodline”. Displaying technical mastery, metal ferocity and astounding melodic female vocals, these releases helped the band develop and solidify a reputation as Britain’s best-kept metal secret. To build on this, the band have regularly mixed regular support slots with high-profile bands such as Skyclad and Skindred with incendiary headlining shows, winning them a loyal and constantly expanding army of fans.
Building on the success of previous releases and a wave of popular support, the band unleashed the album “Identity” in 2008. This release was mixed and mastered by Threshold’s Karl Groom and the album shows all of the trademarks of great metal anthems – massive riffs, instantly memorable melodies and emotive solos, all blending together to create a heavy, dynamic and accessible metal sound. The album was widely acclaimed on release and the band undertook a headlining UK tour in early 2008 in support of it, making a triumphant appearance headlining the Lava Stage at Bloodstock Open Air festival in August 2008, along with appearances at Rock Of Ages Festival and Metieval Festival. They completed a further headlining UK tour in late-2008 and spent much of 2009 writing and previewing new material, taking time out to headline further festivals in 2009 and 2010.
Following a brief hiatus, the band is currently in the studio working on the follow-up album to “Identity”, due to be released later in 2013. No longer a secret, the UK now has a band that can compete with the best of their worldwide counterparts. LIQUID SKY embodies the best of the new breed of metal bands – emotive, powerful and instantly memorable.
