I started playing the trumpet in the sixth grade (too long ago). I started writing songs consistently on Valentine's Day in 1982.
My late mother Cereser T. Smith gave me a guitar on my 17th birthday and I taught myself how to play the guitar by playing along to vinyl records of Michael Jackson's Thriller, Prince's 1999, and Maze featuring Frankie Beverly's Live in New Orleans. Since 1988, I have been playing keyboards and still am learning practical music theory.
I enjoy all styles and genres of music and look forward to creating more and listening to music from around the world.
A recent conversation with a friend years ago sparked and renewed my interest to tap into the international music market where I already have been receiving requests through my ministry within: Ready, Willing, & Able, Anointed Believers Baptist Church, and now New Life Missionary Baptist Church.
Most of the songs that I now perform have been remixed to sound entirely different than the original compositions called Fishnets. I am in the process of recording and uploading the remixes for everyone to hear the latest vibes since it is a night and day comparison to the original versions.
I typically choose a color scheme of green to reflect my publishing company's name--Seed Of Life Music (BMI).
Creating music to birth positive things within your spirit and soul is my goal.
