Biography:

Sun Jungle has been part of the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale music scene for years. Jim Korycinski, founder of Sun Jungle, moved to the island of Maui at age 19 with his high school friend Ted Kellepourey, where Ted's older brother Dan was a professional windsurfer. Jim bought an acoustic guitar from a guy on Kihei Beach and started writing his first songs with Ted. Sun Jungle was born and the first four years of the band were based in Hawaii. Jim graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science after moving to the island of Oahu. He was able to pay for most of his college during his Hawaii years thanks to a small scuba shop he co-formed with a fellow waiter; Jim waited tables at the famous restaurant "Matteo's" owned by Frank Sinatra's investment group.

After Hawaii, Jim moved to Southern Florida with Ted Kellepourey and Matt Lipkovich where Sun Jungle has been based ever since. Jim landed a job teaching in Southern Florida where he has taught middle school, high school and has been a high school librarian. Jim also earned a Master's Degree in Education from the University of South Florida, which led to an adjunct professor position. Today Sun Jungle usually plays small gigs on the weekends with various drummers and local bands.
