Jim Korycinski, founder of Sun Jungle, grew up in South Rockwood, Michigan, a small rural town in southeastern Michigan. At an early age he was attracted to music and by age 8 was playing cornet and piano. Jim quit piano lessons at age 13 after he moved to downriver Detroit (Riverview) and purchased his first Judas Priest, Ozzy Ozbourne, Van Halen, and Def Leppard albums on the advice of some new Riverview friends and at the horror of his mother.
