The quintet is led by former Ringling Brothers clown Peter Bufano who first entered the ring 22 years ago. He grew tired of the red nose and floppy shoes and traded them in for an accordion. Since then Bufano has composed 4 original circus scores and led the band in thousands of performances for circuses in the U.S. and abroad.
The group performs an original big top blend of Eastern European, Klezmer, gypsy, and jazz influenced instrumentals.
One is immediately reminded of a dark, creeping Nino Rota score to a Fellini film or at times an Astor Piazzolla tango.
The songs have been placed in television shows such as Anumal Planet, PBS’s “Fetch,” MTV’s “Wild Boyz,” NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” and the film “Circus Dreams.”
“You can expect the same level of talent as you would get at Ringling Bros.—sans the rampant elephant abuse.”
