Biography:

Gene (jimisound) began playing guitar at age 7. He listened to his father play the blues and 7 years later was on stage imitating Jimi Hendrix's, his stunts and his songs to the note. He sings, wrote the lyrics and composed the music for all the instruments on the songs posted here on Reverbnation. Gene is an amazing high achiever. He's been on the Deans List at a respected university business school for the past 3 years ( including 2012) He became a songwriter after being coached and critiqued by some reliable music publishers, including Warner Bros music, and other labels and publishers, while writing on projects for their artists. He has written on projects for Tina Turner, Grace Jones, Tevin Cambell, Barry White and other artists. Gene has a complicated and rich history, with many notable accomplishments but he only talks about them if they come up. He began conducting the Castle Park Junior and High school concert, jazz and marching bands at just 13 years old. Shortly afterwards he was opening for the Young Bloods at 15. He was the music scene reporter for a popular magazine, appeared in TV's Renegade, Silk Stockings and several USA movies along side Bruce Greenwood, Virginia Madsen and other well known actors and producers. His song "Grip The Grit" a European rock song aired and profiled on Rock 102.1 during the 90's. Currently Gene spends most of his time running his writing service, writing for Examiner/Reuters/CBS, http://peopletruths and www.jimisound.com, a website he owns and is committed to. He says its his love for the "Arts" that enabled his accomplishments in other areas of his life. Gene coined the name "Jimisound" back in 1987 after creating the name "Black Cat Publishing" for his publishing company, a then registered busniness in San Diego CA. The name has since become synonymous with Jimi Hendrix and is being used by several Internet publishers, products outlets, a band in Pakistan and another on Youtube. He says they have a good taste for names and smiles. Gene is currently earning his 2ND degree, this one in business and marketing to use in his music interests. Gene has always been a trend setter and a person to follow and says he wants to put another "Jimisound Band" together and get back to his apple.
