Biography:

Jawbone and Jolene is a blues/roots acoustic duo. In recent years, we've had the pleasure of performing at festivals as well as various clubs but we still continue to practice our music while busking on street corners, farmers markets and even a little retro furniture shop. Currently we've made it back out- ON THE ROAD! Our current location is the Champlain Islands of Vermont where we've gotten some gigs both locally and in Burlington, just to the south of us.. Who knows where the muse may lead us next? We're living in our 25' travel trailer and trying to go where it's warm!
We also write songs and have created three CDs --- Lifestyles of the Poor & Infamous and Nothin' but a Party, and It Was a Dark and Stormy Night --- filled with our original material. They are all as different as night and day. Lifestyles, strictly acoustic, is just us playing harmonica and guitar while trading off lead vocals among our songs. The Party CD we brought in a local bass player and drummer in order to get an all electric band vibe. On the latest one, It Was a Dark and Stormy Night, we went back to an acoustic duo format for the idea of Raw Real and Right Now.

Early 2017 saw us recording the latest CD and getting it ready to send off for copyright, before we hit the road on a US tour! We got to play many joints across America for several months and ultimately we resettled in Tulsa for a year. Worked, saved, and gigged our way to buying a fresh rolling home.
Our copyrights are all in order and in hand now, as are copies of all three CD's.

Press:

“Listening to the new album from Jawbone and Jolene is no nonchalant event. It’s a dance of rhythm and blues set to the wail of a harmonica. In their new album they give their fans a nice and easy reminder of the kind of blues they might have heard back at the juke joint..Jawbone performs the song “Down and Dirty.” It’s a strong album opener. The kind of song that would have fit perfectly in a TV show like “In the Heat of the Night.” And this album is being featured in a short film made for the Little Rock Film Festival 48 Hour Film Project which will debut August 27.While Jawbone opens the album, Jolene introduces herself in songs like Movin’ Man, Be Your Thrill, and Rock Me Daddy..One can almost feel that anticipation in her step to microphone as she sings about the love of her man in songs like “Honey Baby.” Overall, it features what just might be some of the best harmonica blends heard from a local blues artist in a long time. This is a talented duo.”
Tracy Crain - Arkansas Free Press

“Harp 'n hollow body duo Jawbone & Jolene fall into the traditionalist camp, performing classics and originals that touch on evergreen themes: ramblin', gamblin', landin' in trouble and amblin' back home. Jolene's guitar provides a sturdy backing for Jawbone's gravelly singing and wailing harmonica.”
Robert Bell - Arkansas Times

“I have reviewed Jawbone and Jolene’s music and fell in love with that delta sound, I highly recommend this duo.”
Bobbie Oliver - Bobbie's Blues News

“...a really good duo playing blues—Jawbone and Jolene. Their raw vocals were enhanced with Jawbone on harmonica and wife Jolene on vocals and acoustic guitar. Their CD “Back Porch Blues” is a mellow excursion of country blues and their duo performance was the perfect accompaniment..."”
