In the winter of 2009, three friends got together to make the music they grew up loving to form The Driftin Outlaw Band. Aaron Courtney (drums), Jon Rust (guitar/vocals) and Jared Wallace (guitar) started writing new songs and quickly developed their Texas Outlaw Country Sound. Greg New (Upright Bass) joined the band in the Winter of 2010.
They began performing throughout the North Texas area, building a following anywhere from house parties to honkytonks. Sharing the stage with acts such as Two Tons of Steel, The Tejas Brothers, and the legendary W.S. "Fluke" Holland, the quickly built a reputation with their unique country sound.
The Driftin Outlaw Band went into the Tomcast Studios April 2010 to record their debut album, Texas Outlaw Country Vol. 1. Now with their album release set for August 13th, they were also selected to play in the 2010 Shiner Rising Star competition which they begin in late August. Look for them playing throughout Texas and the South promoting their first album Texas Outlaw Country Vol. 1.
