Bio: We, at The Valve, pride ourselves on being the only dedicated music venue in Sydney set up by Musicians for Musicians and we do offer equipment and conditions superior to any comparable sized venue in Sydney! We are truly honoured to host 50-70 live acts every week at the venue that is unspoiled by presence of gambling and "pub" antics! The venue hosts up to 600 people in the lounge bar/bistro/beer garden/gig room areas. Gig room holds 250 to 400 people (the space has extension ability). PA is 12K W, sounds massive and is equipped with awesome stage monitoring, compressors, digital effects etc etc etc. Lighting rig is 10K W. All you need to bring is your backline. In terms of promotion we advertise all shows in Drum Media, Live Guide and another 20 online and printed publications. Street postering, flyer and general "word out" promotion is up to you. We need 10 posters for the show to display around the venue as well as we can help (if we're able to at the time) with distribution of 200-300 flyers for your show in music stores/cafes of a nearby Newtown. Since specs release PA has been increased to 12K w with 6 18" bass bins etc etc. Venue, PA, Lighting systems provided at no cost, sound engineering is provided at no cost, Drum Media advertisement is provided at no cost, listings with 20 on line and printed advertisers are provided at no cost. Cover charge is entirely up to you, collected and kept entirely by you. In terms of promotion: poster/flier campaign is very important and worthwhile and we can assist with distribution of it. Mic Stands, XLR leads in obundance. 6 DI boxes. Technics SL 1200 - 2; Pioneer 707 Pro Mixer - 1. Lighting: Soundvision ICA4 Colourwash by 4 - 8K W, Martin CX4 intelegent by 1, Martin Acrobat intelegent scanner by 1, Mini Strobe by 1, LED and conventional Par Cans (many of), Sharky Pro Fog Machine by 1, etc etc etc... Projection/Recording: In Room Stage Focused Stationary Camera sending Video Signal to DVD Recorder, Audio Feed direct from Mixing Desk, enabling DVD Recording of Live Sets. Video Signal from Camera sent to LED Projector - real time image of performance projected on Big Screen outside of Performance Room.
