Two decades ago, the Tatts was considered the premier live music venue of the area. These days, music is back at the Tatts in a big way and we’re on a mission to make the Tatts the venue of choice for local and touring bands once again. Having recently won the Food & Beverage Award in the 2011 Northern Star Lismore Business Awards, the front bar is highly popular with weekend diners. Thursday is jazz night, which was recently described by the Northern Star as the best jazz night in the area. Soloists and duos contribute to the warm and friendly ambience for diners on Fridays and Saturdays, and we’re currently planning to ramp up the tempo with some late evening music in the front bar on weekends. On Fridays and Saturdays, bands of all genres bring the back room to life. We have refurbished the back room, retaining the high, ornate ceilings, and installing big, wooden ceiling fans that give the room a sultry vibe perfect for live music. At night, the room can be dressed up to create an intimate, old-world mood with tablecloths and candlelight, decorated for a theme night, or cleared for a night of dance music (see photos). The back room has a generous-sized stage to provide plenty of performance space, even for large bands. We have a good PA and supply exceptional in-house engineers. Touring bands have access to free accommodation in a dedicated 2-bunk (4-person) band room.
