Bio: The Chippewa Valley Cultural Association is the non-profit organization that owns and manages the Heyde Center for the Arts. The Center's mission is to support local artists and performers and to be a showcase for the wider creative industry. I'm joining My Space as a way to get ideas and information from musicians, performers, and artists as well as arts/culture enthusiasts about the kinds of programs they would want to see. The Heyde Center for the Arts is a neo-classical style building constructed in 1907 with four distinctive pillars on the portico. The building overlooks the river and downtown Chippewa Falls. The 30,000 square foot building’s floors and trim are of a variety of hard and soft woods and the original, outstanding workmanship remains. The rooms are large with 14-foot tin ceilings. The auditorium on the third floor has a balcony, decorative woodwork, and great acoustical properties. The Heyde Center for the Arts was named after a benevolent Chippewa Falls family that donated a significant amount of money to the Center’s restoration.
