156 Pentonville Road, London, UK
Capacity: 200 Age Limit: 18
Bio: Situated just a three minute walk from The Scala/Kings Cross in one direction, and Upper Street not far the other way, Surya is a fantastic new venue on the London live scene. Originally dubbed as the "world's first completely ecologically friendly club" when it opened several years ago, it retains some unusual features (chandelier made of green biros and the bar made from recycled materials), yet is now also equipped to host bands and give them a great night. The upstairs bar holds 80 people and is great to catch up with your friends, but it is downstairs in the 180 capacity live room that the fun starts. The intimate atmosphere makes for a great live event, and a (VERY) late license means that the crowd can stay on and dance to the early hours. State of the art decks will keep your DJ more than happy. It doesnt end there though, a back room can be kept back for artists to "chill" or for vips, or can be opened up to the public as an extra space - one that is capable of having a fully stocked bar as well. Glasswerk are very excited to be running all the live entertainmnet from the beginning of March, and are busy booking headline acts and also talking to London promoters who wish to be part of this new venue from the beginning. We're looking for the right people to work alongside us and can offer great deals to make the venue even more enticing. Great deals mean cheap ticket prices which means busier venues, and this keeps owner, booker, promoter and bands all happy!
