Bio: Our special events have been the most concrete example of diversity in the Lemon Grove. From Jazz old timers and young rock groups to standup comics and politicians, we cast the widest net of featured performers. Our reputation as the premiere venue of live entertainment within Youngstown has grown so rapidly that now nationally touring acts contact us wanting to play here. For instance, recording artists Unwed Sailor chose the Lemon Grove and Youngstown as their only regional stop on a national tour, forgoing Pittsburgh and Cleveland, two cities with much larger draws for live music. Artists fall in love with the Lemon Grove first because of its atmosphere and second, as every artist has a horror story of venues that rip off bands, they know we do all we can to make sure it is an enjoyable and profitable experience for them as well. We also have resources that are beneficial to them that they do not find at other venues, such as free Wi-Fi, copy center, and truly delicious food. This bond between the artist and the Lemon Grove makes for a more memorable experience for both the performer and the concert attendee, making it like so much of what the Lemon Grove does simultaneously good for the heart and smart business. People have been amazed from the beginning on how there’s always something happening at the Lemon Grove. Our event booking keeps on growing and refining! We find innovative ways to ensure artists are well compensated, while at the same time making sure the Lemon Grove is financially successful on the business end with every event. The economic impact we have on the arts and music community cannot be minimized. In a time of recession, we have created a system that benefits Youngstown, regional and national talent all at once.
