Bio: The Castle is Oldham's Premier Live Music Venue & Oldham's Coolest Micro-Club. Situated on Union Street, in the heart of Oldham's Town Centre (Just six miles north of Manchester City Centre). It has been home to Oldhams live music scene for many years now......being the birthplace of the Inspiral Carpets and witnessing early performances from Oasis, The Stone Roses, and Northside. More recently, The Castle has seen shows from some MASSIVE ACTS such as: Kasabian, BabyShambles, The Frattellis, The Courteeners, ASH, Peter Hook (Joy Division + New Order), One Night Only, Twisted Wheel, Little Man Tate, Pete Doherty (Solo Acoustic), The Rascals, The Young Knives, The Whip, John Power (Cast + The La's), The Fall, The Chameleons, Puressence, Exit Calm, JJ72, Nine Black Alps, The Bluetones, The Horrors, Tiny Dancers, Ratatat, Hugh Cornwall (The Stranglers), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Glenn Tilbrook (Squeeze), Steve White (Style Council/Paul Weller), Aziz (The Stone Roses/Ian Brown), The Boxer Rebellion, Lethal Bizzle, The Ripps, The Bishops, KBC, to name a few. Also DJ sets from New Order, Shaun Ryder, The Smiths, Mani, Tim Burgess and many many more. The Castle has a Live Capacity of 275 people + Club Capacity of 360, including a secondary Club Space overlooking TWO funky enclosed terrace gardens.
