Bio: THIS HISTORIC VENUE – BUILT IN 1949 – HAS RECENTLY UNDERGONE A SERIES OF UPGRADES AND IMPROVEMENTS IN ITS ONGOING QUEST TO BE THE BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE LOCATION IN ARLINGTON. STEP INSIDE OUR FACILITY TO DISCOVER A WARM AND WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT, COMPLETE WITH A 1,071- SEAT AUDITORIUM THAT INCLUDES A FULL-SIZE STAGE WITH STATE‐OF‐THE‐ART SOUND AND LIGHTING. Perfectly situated between Dallas and Fort Worth, the City of Arlington, Texas, offers its inhabitants the best of all worlds, and ARLINGTON MUSIC HALL possesses some of the richest performing history in all of the Metroplex. Built in 1949 and opening in 1950 as a movie theater, this beautiful facility was considered the “go to” place for entertainment (both live and on film!). Opening night featured the movie “Seabiscuit” with Shirley Temple and Barry Fitzgerald that followed a memorable performance by a local band – The Flying Ranch Hands (aka The Light Crust Doughboys). Burk Collins purchased the Hall in 2006 and implemented a series of major upgrades to the facility resulting in a total renovation costing $7 million. The stage size was doubled and the seating capacity was increased to nearly 1,100 by the time the Hall re-opened in November 2010 with Ray Price serving as the headliner. A remnant of the original curtain is on display inside and marquee on the front of the building is also the original!
