James, I thank you for your nice comment about the Friday Rollback and about my song, "Little Girl". I am listening to "Loretta" which is very catchy and you always have a lot of soul in your voice. I love those songs with gal names as it takes me back to when I wrote songs such as "Mary Ann".."Dear Annie".."Oh Sweet Judy"..etc. I had a friend that loved to write songs and he wrote "Becky Ann" that got recorded by a local group. "The Four Jacks". Well I have to keep listening as there is "Say Si Si" is on my stereo. Best Wishes, Roy Cost, Conway, AR
James,
Thanks for checkin out my music. A place to share my music is why I started a Reverbnation page. I appreciate your comment about "honesty in every strum". Your music has some great passion that you express with confidence. That's something I strive for.
God bless!
Thanks James for listening to some of my songs and your comment about "The Rhythm Of The Rain" was certainly appreciated. You have great variety in your songs and being in a rockabilly band is quite a treat and a learning experience to many of us. Back in those early days we were so much country rock that we didn't realize that 30 percent of our music was rockabilly. I had some of the best rockabillies to influence me. Perhaps the most influence came from Bob Luman of the Louisiana Hayride and his great song "A Red Cadillac And A Black Mustache". I worked that song to death from 1957 to doomsday. Bob and I were friends and he had the cadillac song, ''Let's Think About Living'' and the flip was a dandy, "You've Got Everything". We lost Bob in 19 78. Locally there was the great & late Teddy Riedel and his great songs such as ''Old Pipeliner'', ''Back Side Of Your Heart'', ''Corina'' and the Elvis cut of "Judy". I would say that Teddy's "Judy" was the best. Other great artists coming to Arkansas State Teacher's College in my day were "The Pacers".. "Ronnie Hawkins' and Joe Stampley & "The Uniques". We had many great artists coming into our city itself such as the great Conway Twitty. My former piano player, the late Jack Nance co-wrote "It's Only Make Believe" with Twitty and once he showed me his 'gold record award'. That was in 1964 and boy did I ever get the 'rock and roll fever'. Roy Cost, Conway, Arkansas
