You are invited to join us for our 2025 Annual Brownstone Poets Anthology Celebration on Zoom on Saturday, December 6, at 2 p.m. ET.
Since 2005, Brownstone Poets has been inspiring poetry in Brooklyn. We strive to be a unique and diverse community, welcoming various literary styles and forms. Our reading series is expanding via Zoom, reaching out to new voices across the U.S. and the world.
We would like to thank this year’s 62 reader-contributors and our loyal attendees. Without their love and commitment, our reading series and this anthology would not have been possible.
We’re honored to have the Georgian American poet David Dephy as our poet-in-residence and Susan Justiniano/ RescuePoetix as this year’s guest poet.
This collection of poetry, infused with urban imagery, is our contribution to the vibrant spirit of Brooklyn and a worldwide community.
Please follow the directions below, completing both steps at least two days before the reading to avoid delays entering the meeting room. Note the order of the open mic follows the order of signup. A Wonderful Day for Poetry
https://patriciacarragon8.wordpress.com/2025/11/08/a-wonderful-day-for-poetry/
What an afternoon of voices today, November 8, at George Wallace’s and Walt Whitman Birthplace’s event for Season 4 of POETS BUILDING BRIDGES: A TRIANGULATION PROJECT.
We, BREVITAS POETS, from NYC, Ron Kolm, Jeffrey Cyphers Wright, myself, and Austin Alexis, rocked the house.
Turkish poets Tozan Arkan, Nur Akahun, Yavuz Türk, and Özge Cengiz provided an international approach to world events, etc.
Lynn Alexander, Richard Loranger, and Han Raschka, of Collapse Press, ended the reading on a fabulous bang!
For those who missed it, a YouTube recording should be available sometime next week.
A big Brevitas thank you to George Wallace and Ron Kolm for the invitation. Surely an unforgettable event!
Happy Saturday,
Trish oxoxox

Haiku Society of America Members’ Anthology 2025
Honored to be a member of the Haiku Society of America and to have my tree haiku, originally published by Wales Haiku Journal, Autumn 2024, in the members’ anthology, Ginkgo Gold. Thank you, Nicky Guiterrez, for putting together this work of haiku love. A shoutout to my Sense & Sensibility family. Too many names to list.
outside my window the tree extends its branch
Sadly, the haiku about this tree is now in the past tense. My building’s brick exterior is being repaired, and the workers chopped off that branch.
