pronounced "dead"

late morning hours
as a young rat
he tended to try nibbling
on our fingers
not realizing
the hand that feeds him.
later in life we are certain
he became thankful
that he of all rats
was risen to royal
status via special annoited
purchase at a local pet store,
never to see the jaws of a python, never to drink
the brimey waters in a sewer.
Every effort was made to save
his life given "modern" technology but when God decides to "pull the plug" you cant argue anymore.
Just goes to show how fragile life really is when a "hearty" creature such as this still perishes in its sleep while healthy people elsewhere on this globe at this moment are being tortured, tormented, starving, thirsting, etc. and for what good reason ?
and so we shed a tear for dear Leo The Bold in his honor and to honor all those still suffering needlessly on this planet that is supposed to be "ours".
