The folks at Tilted Kilt called and asked us if we would come headline Tilted Kilt Fest in the parking lot at their location in Elgin, IL. Amanda, the talent buyer over there, is such a good hang that we could not resist. This will be an all day band, brat, and booze fest that will be open to all ages. There will be games, beverages, music, and food outside all day long, and you can feel free to come and get rowdy. Were sort of invision this to be like a giant yard party. Just...not in a yard.

After many requests to come to one of the Michigan wine fests, we are going to come on down. If you are road tripping to the fest, come early and enjoy the winery all day. It shuts down early evening. Round Barn has great wine, but also makes a fab stout, and their own flavored vodkas. There is a lot of drinking to do folks. We will see you guys there...

Aug 18, CD And Me (www.cdandme.com), 8pm, Frankfort, IL MAP(23320 S La Grange Rd, Frankfort, IL 60423) CD and Me is just the most unusual place. Follow us on this one. Cd and Me is actually a hardscape company....you know, the guys who will come and put in a patio or a waterfall for your back yard. For real! And because they do patios, gazebos, waterfalls, walls, brick pavers, and all that, they have all of these things built and on display on their property. Its all so nice that people started to ask if they could have their weddings in their gazebo (they have a sweet gazebo!). The weddings and other private events then snowballed into the idea that they could do bands on a Thursday night concert series....and thats when we entered the picture. We play kind of early (because its outside) from 8pm-11pm. People start showing up early....like around 7ish. Undergrads stat to roll in about 9pm. Its a good time. We know one thing for sure. When we show up on college campuses, there is no other summer venue that people talk about more than this place.

July 29- Algonquin Founders Days with Sixteen Candles (http://www.algonquinfoundersdays.com/), 6:15pm, Algonquin, IL MAP: Riverfront Park in Algonquin/downtown Algonquin This will truly be a one of a kind event for us. There is a first time for everything I guess. Here is how this went down. Last year it rained on us at Algonquin Founders Days. It did stop for a sec and we were able to play, but it did put a bit of a damper on the event. We got off stage and Joe went over to eat Georgio's pizza and chat with Kent, the fest talent buyer. Kent, we have to come back next year and play when it is not raining. Sure Joe, we would love to have you back. Then Joe's phone rings and its Dave from Sixteen Candles. He is calling to complain about how Sixteen Candles also got rained out at their fest. Joes gets off the phone and he and Kent start eating pizza again. We have been wanting to have Sixteen Candles at our fest as well, says Kent. Yea they are awesome says Joe. You think so, asks Kent? Oh for sure. We should have them out to play with you guys next year. Yea, Joe says, but who would play first and who would play last? They both keep eating pizza. Then Joe says, you know what we should do? We should do a co-bill and have both bands play together on the stage. Set up both bands side by side and alternate 45 minute sets continuously for like 4 hours straight. Do you think they would do that, asks Kent? That sounds fantastic. Oh for sure. Lets call Dave and ask him. Dave, do you want to come and play a co-bill with M&J next year and set up both bands and alternate sets for like 4 hours? Oh hell yes, Dave says. Sounds like a blast. There you go Kent. Done. So there YOU go. We will be playing together with 16C all night, back and forth, and probably mixed up together as well with both bands set up on the stage at the same time. Mayhem I tell you Mayhem. You will never see it again either. Come while the coming is going. July 30, Sugar Grove Corn Boil (http://www.sugargrove60554.com/sugargrovecornboil/), 8:30pm, Sugar Grove, IL MAP: sugar grove, IL This will be our first trip out to the Sugar Grove Corn Boil and we love the name. You boil some corn and all of a sudden a festival breaks out. We will be there early to hang out and apparently to eat soft corn. Looking at the festival website there is a ton of stuff to do at this fest and we bet we will have a great time hanging out all afternoon. We will be most fired up when our set time comes up though because we are going to rock this place. This will be a M&J style summertime jam, and we cannot wait. Kane County will be a better place this evening as we spread happy MJ love to all y'all. July 31, Summer on Southport (www.starevents.com), 7pm, Chicago, IL MAP: 3700 N Southport, Chicago, IL One of the big Chicago summer Street fests, Summer on Southport is a big deal to us. There really is nothing like standing on the stage in the middle of the street in Chicago and seeing a sea of people rockin and partying with the band. Its pure happiness really. We would recommend starting your own band just so you can experience it. Cant wait for the Chicago Street Fests!

July 8,- Byron Fest (http://www.byronfest.org/), 9pm, MAP: Downtown Byron, IL. Byron Fest is a full on carnival/festival extravaganza that takes place in downtown Byron...near Rockford, IL. There are 3 stages with music, games, rides, food, and all that. The fest runs for a few days and involves pretty much the entire community. Rockford area folks, come on down:) July 9, Westchester Fest (http://www.westchesterchamber.org/westchester_events.cfm), 10pm, Westchester, IL MAP: St Joseph High School at 22nd and Mayfair in Westchester Wow! We have wanted to play Westchester Fest for quite some time, but we have never been able to fit it onto our schedule. 2011 will change that. This is a big bad festival with Entertainment, food, drinks, fireworks, and carnival. Come to the fest, hang with the band, then lets go out. Joe will be buying.

ALGONQUIN FOUNDERS DAYS, JULY 29--CO-BILL WITH SIXTEEN CANDLES We have never done this before. On July 29 we will be playing our first true co-bill ever. What the hell does that mean? Its means two bands set up on the stage at the same time alternating half hour sets back and forth with no breaks all night. The band we will be playing with is our fav pop 80's band Sixteen Candles.
