Carolyn Striho’s music has been described as written “from the silver edge of midnight” (All-Music Guide, USA). Wildly original and highly regarded as one of the city’s best singer/songwriters, Carolyn’s also an award-winning musician, performer, and poet. From her early days in Detroit art rock/punk rock to her current soulful music, Carolyn’s alluring vocal delivery with a rock and roll folk baroque is hypnotizing. She is on the Grammy Awards First Ballot 2025 with her guitarist/husband Scott Dailey for Best Americana and American Roots Song, Best Instrumental Music Performance, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Alternative Music Performance. She was on the First Ballot 2024 for Best American Roots Song/Performance w/Erin Zindle (mixed by Jamie Candoloro of REM and Luscious Jackson), 2022 First Ballot for Best Spoken Word and 2018 First Ballot for Best Rock Album. Carolyn has 11 Detroit Music Awards for albums, songwriting, singing, musicianship and performance. Carolyn’s toured/worked with poet/rock icon/singer Patti Smith in Michigan, Toronto, at Lollapalooza and London U.K. She’s performed with Don Was/Was (Not Was), Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Slits, Ramones, Iggy Pop, and with Yoko Ono, Steve Earle, Tori Amos, Sinead O'Connor in London and performed many times in Italy, the U.K. and Japan. She was featured in “Hit Girls” which was in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Revolutionary Women’s Exhibit.
