Bio
After moving to New York City to teach Seventh Grade, I began experimenting more with different styles of music. Mixing sounds I'd worked with in my past bands such as Wake Up, Scarlet, the Boy Anvil, and Sally and the Palindrome, I try to blend everything I hear, such as poetry, traditional rock n roll, hip hop, trip hop, blues, and noise to create zsasz.
Press
“This collection was recorded during two years in New York and like the city it's gritty, in your face and undoubtedly moody and twisted. Sparse and minimalist is the feeling here, even when there's a cloud of distorted guitars, with the sense that the point is not to make a wall of impregnable sound. Quasi-sung stories/poetry, albeit "Your Body Is Familiar" is a spoken monologue through a distorted microphone and a highlight of the collection, over melodic guitars and a steady drumbeat go from echoing Black Flag to indie alt-rock.”
