“Like most respected solo artists, his song material stems from relationships to politics, and he is also very liberal with his use of fictional characters such as Bob the hairy space gnome, the illegitimate love child of a travelling salesman, a young farmer by the name of Hawkeye Jones, and Madamme La'range, the voodoo priestess of New Orleans.
On songwriting, Z dub says: "I enjoy breathing life into these strange and interesting characters through my music. Some of them are based on real people that have crossed my path at one point or another, and others come from dreams. I think that being a songwriter gives me the creative outlet that I need to create a visual and audible montage by fusing music and storyboards together. It's all about putting the listeners in that place that I've created, and at the end of the day, making a connection with people. That's really the most important thing to me."”

“Ok, first off, let me just say that this guy is good. No he is really, really good. He's so good that after he sings your favorite song, colors seem brighter, food tastes better, and you catch all the green lights on the drive back home! If you haven't seen or heard him perform, and you appreciate quality live music, do not pass go, do not collect $200, go and check him out immediately. You won't be disappointed!”
“This talented musician has performed with commercially successful bands and indie projects all over the world, headlining at festivals in front of tens of thousands, and also playing in humble coffee shops, and he is comfortable in either venue. He has an impressively convincing 3-octave vocal range, and a fresh and ecclectic style that’s all his own. He is an unapologetic vocalist, who channels both pure emotion and also stage antic theatrics to get his point across.
His songs and style have been compared to Thom Yorke, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, and more. His stage presence is mesmerizing, and he commands attention inadvertently. He strums his guitars with a distinctively flamenco-influenced flair, and never uses a pick.
In a nutshell, Jusin other is the real deal; a convincing, professional solo artist, and a well-sought-after performer and session musician, with the credentials and talent to back it up.”
"I have known this cat for several years now, and have seen him perform all over the Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. area, from Williamsburg up to Baltimore, Charlottesville to Richmond, Fredericksburg to Fairfax. His melodic sensibilities are executed warmly through the use of his throaty, raspy baritone, as well as his signature clear-as-a-bell high tenor falsetto. His unique literary flair truly shines through the use of his rhythmic, angsty, sometimes plain silly lyrics. He is one of my favorite live musicians, and if you ever get the chance to hear him play, you absolutely should."
