What started out as a birthday party and turned into a music festival is back! The Upper Valley Music Festival is in our second year and we are committed to raising even more money for the American Cancer Society. Cancer has hit many of our families hard so we take any chance we can to hit back. This is an all volunteer event. Everyone from the artists to the stagehands graciously give of their time so we can donate every penny of profit to fund cancer research and find a cure! The UVMF is also a “coming out party” of sorts for our independent music scene. We have a tremendous talent pool of professional bands and musicians here representing every musical style. Our goal is to promote and increase the exposure of these acts. We want the UVMF to be an important Indie music event! In 2012 the UVMF moves to the artsy, groovy town of Turners Falls, MA. The UVMF is split into two sides-The Electric Side and The Acoustic Side. We have at least 5 venues all within walking distance. The historic Shea Theatre will serve as our main venue and the Great Hall of the Great Falls Discovery Center will be our main acoustic stage. We also have St. Kazimierz Society Club, which will serve as the Festival’s Dance Hall where festival goers can dance to live music all day and night! The Rendezvous (The Voo!) will be our “bar” venue where our patrons can get some great food and drink while listening to some rockin’ music! Burrito Rojo will be our Emerging Artists stage. Please check the Venues page for more information on our venues and stages. We will have a contra dance and a traditional Irish music session. We may even have a polka party at our dance hall! The Upper Valley Music Festival is something we want the whole community to be involved in. We will be running promotions with local businesses such as discounts at local restaurants for festival-goers with wristbands. We want to foster an economic relationship between our music scene and local businesses. The UVMF supports downtowns! All UVMF artist will be playing full 45 minute sets! The festival cost is just $10.00 (yep, $10.00!) for adults and is good for the entire day and night. Children under 12 are free. Please come out to this incredible event! Support the American Cancer Society and hear the best music in the Upper Valley! Screw cancer!!
This will be a Battle of the Bands. Winner takes home $1000 dollars Cash
