Bio
Created in 2003, Xenovibes [foreign+expressions] began as the sonic melange of "Singapore's 1st & only diva of the theremin" Shueh-li Ong. Conjoining her Australian-Asian heritage with her classical-music tech training, XV is also the ‘stage’ on which she lets down her hair down in virtuosic synthesizer performance. XV has become synonymous with the faces of Shueh-li & John Anthony Martinez, the group’s other core touring member since its premier in 2004, which witnessed the release of the CD & show ideal. The CDs bear Ong’s sound design, composition/studio production style whilst the shows carried the passion & aggression of live performance. XV features guest artists in performance.
About
No Barriers - The international Synth Pop of Xenovibes
PRO/FILE Feb 2008 issue of Electronic Musician Mag
"What do you get when you mix synthesizers, theremins, traditional folk instruments and electronic drums with a multitalented, multicultural, classically trained keyboardist (with a degree in electronic music) and a New York jazz drummer? The answer is Xenovibes." ~ M Levine, Exec Editor/Snr Media Prod, Electronic Musician Magazine.
From diametrically opposed cultures and hemispheres (Chinese Australian based in Singapore and Puerto Rican American), Xenovibes has Shueh-li Ong (the mind behind Xenovibes) and John Anthony Martinez; aka Moog artist and Yamaha e-Drummer respectively as its core.
