More than 250 fans packed the concert hall at Victoria Hall in Cobourg for a full concert by Western Avenue, which performed the six original songs mixed in with other musical favourites, as part of their self-titled CD release party. The event sold out in three days when the tickets went on sale back in January. Western Avenue, which also features guitarist Matt Williams, perform for Springdale residents at the home’s monthly birthday parties. They have been playing together since 2007. When word got out that their single, “Highway Headin’ Out of Town,” had made a breakthrough, life enrichment co-ordinator Candice Stewart called the OMNIway to help spread the word. The song made its debut on 131 country radio stations starting yesterday (July 2). Western Avenue will also be releasing their debut album in September. ”
