Bio
'Wainscott' is dance producer; Paul Faulkner. He has been writing and producing many styles of dance music for years and more recently produced a few bootlegs.
Paul writes and produces house music under the pseudonym of 'Wainscott'. The style of house is hard to define but debut track "In The System" was inspired by music played at the River Bar in Maidstone, Kent.
The track itself doesn't really sound exactly like anything else out there. It has the element of a late 80s acid house beat mixed with an early 90s rave feel together with that familiar pumping effect in house music in the last few years (just think of Eric Prydz' "Call On Me"). Once you hear it you won't be able to get it out of your head!
About
I've been producing various styles of dance music seriously for about 11 years now, such as techno, drum'n'bass, garage, happy hardcore and a few bootlegs but I've not had anything released. In more recent years I've been producing trance under the name 'Luna'.
After not really knowing which musical direction to go in I stumbled across a great idea for a tune early in 2007 which ended up being my debut track under the name 'Wainscott' entitled "In The System". 'Wainscott' is named after somewhere near where I live.
It took a long time to come up with more tracks that I was happy with but I managed to write and produce some tunes which have gained a huge amount of attention from DJs all over the world mainly through myspace and some through reverbnation.
My style of house reflects my taste in old skool. I try to come up with melodic hooks with nice chords and beats that you can't help but move to. I am also heavily influenced by the pumping effect used in house music in recent years known as sidechain or 'duck & pump'.
My highlight so far has been one of my tracks "7th Heaven" being chosen by Dave Pearce to be played on his BBC6 show 'Dance Anthems' as his bedroom producer of the week. It was exciting and very nerve racking but I got through it as I had to talk to him live on national radio!
For now though I'm just carrying on promoting my music, creating enough hype to secure a good enough record deal or start my own label to release tunes from this profile and my 'Luna' (trance) profile.
