Bio
Jeff Chard played his first club, the legendary Highlands in Cambridge, at 16 years old in late 1988 as part of the band Back to Front. He went on to form the Anti Socials, Funkchannel, The Marlins and id v.s. superego. With each band came a cassette or CD release of original music, as well as lots of gigs in the Cambridge, Guelph, Kitchener – Waterloo and Toronto areas.
Chad Kreutzweiser first made his presence in the late 80’s as DJ Rhythmic Action but quickly changed gears to keyboards and synthesizers. Kreutzweiser went on to form alternative electronic bands Sector Seven, Master Unit and CRE8OR until 1995 when he took a long hiatus. In 2007 he re-surfaced as Solosonic.
About
Chard and Kreutzweiser had been looking for a way to merge guitar-based and electronic music independently for several years when they were introduced by Kreutzweiser’s cousin and formed Vienna Psychoanalytic Society in 2008. With young families, professional careers and a love for old-school new wave and modern Britpop in common, V.P.S. exists to create a music of common influences. “State of Mind,” their first release, serves as an amalgamation of this art.
