Vibratome are a rock and pop covers band playing predominantly private functions in the
The band has decades of experience, with guitarist Jem having played in bands from his early days at university, John France with many years of gigging and experience of 3 previous cd cuts, and Dan who is currently working on a side project to showcase his talents. Father & son, John and Bob provide a mx of both experience and a youthful approach to established covers, which enables the band to recreate classic rock in a very contemporary form.
The demo kicks off with Eleanor Rigby, a salute to the Beatles, and what a salute this is. The complex string and harmony arrangements of the original are thrown out of the window and replaced by a raw, brutal clash of music and aggression. The track begins with a delightful acoustic intro by John that both John & Paul would be proud of. However the honeymoon is over after 15 seconds as the true nature of the track forces its way through the speaker and down your ears.
A truck load of guitars, bass and drums steam onto the scene creating a riot of noise, and in doing so, very much make the song their own. The break down of verses into parts, with Jon's double bass beats in the interludes, creates an originality hardly seen on a cover band demo. John's acoustic guitar is constant throughout, galvanising the song with a warm, pleasant sound. Bob's bass backs up Jem's chugging electric guitar giving the overall sound an added depth. Dan's vocals are in your face and aggressive, keeping in toe with the music and the whole song has a seamless flow to it. The chorus is slowed down to a pedestrian pace, giving you enough time to catch your breath, before your blown back by the wall of sound that ensues. An excellent lead break near the end is complemented by a basic beat leading to an abrupt end.
Since the recording of Geology, Vibratome are pleased to announce that Phil Guest has joined the band to enhance the vocal harmonies in the band.
