“Album Review: Vexine. Local rock and roll band Vexine recently released its self-titled debut album and it’s been getting all sorts of great press lately. The band was nice enough to send me a copy and I have to say it’s a damn fine piece of work. It’s a straight up rock and roll album that isn’t afraid to be itself. The band doesn’t try hard to make a good album. They just do what they do and the great album simply happens. It’s full of hard guitar riffs and high energy songs and singer Sarah Gleason’s explosive vocals and the songs’ simple yet intense lyrics make this an album I’ve been listening to on repeat. You can easily tell that Vexine isn’t holding back on what they can do well. Songs like “Rotten and No Good” and “Graceland” easily get stuck in your head and you quickly find yourself singing along at the top of your voice (this has only happened with me in the car and that’s why I’m hesitant to listen to it elsewhere). ”
